Dixie Highway is an Historic Route in the United States, and in Illinois several groups come together every year to "Cruise" the Dixie from Blue Island to Momence. Many of the cars are classics, ranging from Model A Ford's to anything from the present. It's kind of a "Run What You Brung" if you will. Stops are made along the way in several of the cities and everyone has a great time while celebrating a piece of history.

Donation: Pre-Register Online $15:00 until June 10th, 2014. Day of event Registration $20.00 MOST WAIT TO SEE IF THE WEATHER WILL CO-OPERATE AND REGISTER AT THE EVENT.

The Experience: This is a “take your time, travel and explore at your leisure” event. We would like everyone to get to know the Historic Dixie highway and the interesting places along the route.

The Format: Being much like a “Scavenger Hunt”, participants will follow individual instructions to points of interest within the Dixie Highway communities, where event "Passports" will be validated. Also, several secret passport location will earn bonus drawing tickets at the prize drawing in Momence.

The Destinations: Visit the oldest operating business along the Dixie Highway, view Sears Roebuck homes, view historic murals in two separate locations.

The time: registration begins at 8:30 am. and ends at 10:00 sharp at the parking lot across from the Blue Island Library on York Street in Blue Island. Enjoy a cup of "java" and a donut with friends and leave at your leisure.

Passports will be issued the day of the event. All participants must leave form this point, no passports will be issued at any other point.

With a stamped passport, Lunch will be provided by the Village of Steger between 11:00 and 1:00 so you can explore the "Dixie Highway" towns at your pace. Raffle Prizes in Momence for the drivers. 50-50 Pot to keep it interesting.
