It was suggested to make this a new thread for easier visibility.

The plan is to gather at 2pm at the Pontiac dealership in Dublin (yes California ). The general manager was very excited in hosting for us. We (GM and I) also spoke with the head of the maintenance department and since they have Saturday service they have scheduled us in at 2:30 to put a Solstice up on a lift (yes one of thiers) for a looksie and short Q&A.

The drive will kick off at 3:00. The route is as follows:

-Start out at the Dublin Buick Pontiac GMC at 4400 John Monego Ct.,
Dublin, Ca. 94568 going east.
-Run down the block to the Saturn dealer for a drive through.
-Back up to Dublin Blvd and to the right.
-Turn left on Tassajara Rd.
-Turn right in Highland Rd.
-Turn left on Manning Rd.
-Turn right on North Livermore Ave.
-Turn left on May School Rd.
-Turn left on Raymond Rd.
-Turn right on North Vasco Rd.
-Turn left on Northfront Rd.
-Veer left onto Altamont Pass Rd.
-Turn right onto Grant line Rd.
-Turn left onto 580 East onramp and follow it south onto I5 until you get to exit 434 (J17) Diablo Grande Parkway. This is approx. hour one and a good scheduled stop on the east side of the freeway.
-Go back (west) on Diablo Grande Parkway and take a right onto Del Puerto Canyon Rd.
-About hour two there is a really nice pull off point for a good group photo. Plenty of room to stage the cars however we desire with either a nice field and hill in the background or a cattle gate set up across the road. No services or restrooms here but a few bushes for the guys.
-Continuing on Diablo Grande Parkway to Mines Rd and turn right. (There are about 10 or so miles of this stretch of Mines Rd that is considered single lane with no middle line so it is a slower pace through here but a great view and still good turns and fun). There is a second leg of Mines Rd where it meets Del Valla Rd. Turn right and continue on Mines Rd.
-Turn left at the end of Mines Rd onto Tesla Rd.
-Turn left onto Concannon Blvd.
-Left on Wente St. which turns to Marina Ave.
-Left on Arroyo Rd.
-Right on Wetmore Rd.
-Left on Vallecitos Rd.
-Left on 84.
-Cross under 680 heading south and take a right on Paloma Way which is still 84.
-Turn sharp right onto Palomares Rd.
-Right on Paloverde Rd.
-Right on Dublin Canyon to Foothill/San Ramon.
-Left on San Ramon (over the bridge) and right onto Dublin Blvd.
-Left on golden gate drive into parking lot and first right down to Carrow’s restaurant.

The total loop miles is 144 and driving it the first time (moderately) took me 3 and a half hours with stopping and marking my GPS so it should end up being right about the same with the pit stops. Can be cut short if need be at the 84/680 crossing if need be and just hit the freeway from there.

I will be doing a pre-run on the 16th or 17th of June just to get more familiar with it if anyone is board and looking for something to do let me know and by all means come join me.

For those that may just want to do the diner at Carrows, the address is 7505 Dublin Blvd.
Dublin, CA. 94568 (corner of Dublin Blvd and Amador Plaza Rd. we should be there between 6:30 and 7:00.

Please RSVP to me via PM so I can keep the dealership and Carrows informed and I will edit in a roster of attendies to this post as the names roll in.

I know a few people had expressed an interest in this run while we were at Tahoe. Gunny is a professional planner, besides being a cool guy, so I would expect this to be an awesome run! Man just look at his post! When have you ever seen details like that in any of our previous NorCal runs?

Nothing against old Gunny, but I am looking forward to meeting some new faces and of course, some belonging to friends from earlier runs.

pre-run

Hey Gunny-
I'd consider the pre-run depending on when you plan on taking it. We are headed up to Disco Bay on the evening of the 16th, and staying over. It's a test run for us (bags etc for a trip to Vegas in July.) The 23rd is NASCAR weekend, baby! Camping at Infineon. sorry we can't catch you!.

May not be the best timing for you then on the 16th. I want to do a replica run (so I'll be starting at 3pm) to figure in the usual traffic scinarios for when we will be out since I ran it the first time on a Friday afternoon. Sorry you won't be able to make it for the summer solstice celebration run. enjoy Infineon. I'd love to get my baby on that track for a few laps.:driving:

Wish we could be there.

This sounds like it would be a lot of fun, but we cannot make it. We have family obligations such as a wedding and birthdays on Sunday. We are hoping to be back on in July. We miss our Sol Mates!

Glad to see you guys are going to join us! I guess we didn't burn you out with the Tahoe run!
(Some of us got a little too much sun exposure last weekend....but still had a heck of a great time!)

Bad traffic, road constructions, I don't know. Any glich in the plan I might have to adjust for but there was nothing. Accept a line of beautiful Sol's and Sky in trail as far as the eye can see but that will be resolved this weekend:yay: . Just adding to the anticipation of the gang and those that may be on the fence about making it.;)

I've missed out on a few great events lately due to work so I am really looking forward to it and the weather's looking perfect.

I have to work Saturday. Sorry I will not be able to make this run. It sounds like a lot of fun.
Thanks for all your hard work Gunny.
I will be leading a drive here on the Cental Coast on the 30th. Check out the San Luis Obispo WCKCC one-day run thread if any of you are interested in joining in.

Post Run

Well all,

I had a great time today. 5 Sols and 5 skys. A perfect mix. It was a true pleasure meeting you and leading you all on the route. Thank you all for coming. I hope you all had a wonderfull time. I believe we all did. Here are some pics from today. I'm still working the videos.

HMMM. Guess I resized them a bit too small. Sorry, Break out the magnifine glass.
What can I say. It's 1130PM.

There was a huge glare on my dealership shots so if someone could post a couple from there it would be great. Again thank you all for a successful event. See you soon.
