I have been crunching a lot of numbers since autumn 2016 (keeps me of the streets at night) and located the full VIN of 107658 Kappas:
Kappa cars are:
Pontiac Solstice
Saturn Sky
Daewoo G2X
Opel GT
Model Year 2006:
Experimental VIN = Located 78
First 1st 1000 VIN = 1G2MB33BX6Y000001
Last 1st 1000 VIN = 1G2MB33B26Y001000
First regular VIN = 1G2MB33B66Y100001
Last regular VIN = 1G2MB35B66Y120195
Total VIN = 21273
Model Year 2007:
Experimental VIN = Located 68
First regular VIN = 1G8MB33B77Y100001
Last regular VIN = 1G2MB35B17Y142882
Total VIN = 42950
Model Year 2008:
Experimental VIN = Located 44
First regular VIN = 1G2MG35XX8Y100001
Last regular VIN = 1G8MF35X68Y134056
Total VIN = 34100
Model Year 2009:
Experimental VIN = Located 15
First regular VIN = 1G2MG25X99Y000001
Last regular VIN = 1G2MT25X89Y001152
First regular VIN = 1G8MF35X79Y100001
Last regular VIN = 1G2MN35B69Y108138
Total VIN = 9305
Model Year 2010:
Experimental VIN = Located 0
First regular VIN = 1G2ME2CX9AY100001
Last regular VIN = 1G2ME3CX8AY100030
Total VIN = 30
Model Year 2006 - 2010:
Experimental VIN = Located 205
First regular VIN = 1G2MB33B66Y100001
Last regular VIN = 1G2ME3CX8AY100030
Total VIN = 107658
For all "Last regular VIN" I did increase the sequential 10 cars beyond that range and calculated the various VIN possibilities (for all solstice, sky, gt, g2x, versions, editions, engines, transmission, etcetera) and then checked this car was built or not. All to make sure the last VIN was really the last VIN. Is the best I could do, but this methode is not 100% water proof.
So for all cars the full complete VIN is included in the database and it has been confirmed by General Motors that car has been built.
The famous spreadsheet, compiled by Reedred, DaveOC and others, listed the following numbers based on monthly production data published by GM:
MY2006 = 21273
MY2007 = 42950
MY2008 = 34100
MY2009 = 9305
MY2010 = 30
Total = 107658
Interesting for all those hard core coupe fans is that I only found 1265 coupe reguler-VIN , not 1266 as mentioned elsewhere, and 1280 coupe in total.
Below the production numbers, including EX VIN, for all the four different Kappa models.
I included (at a later date) percentage info for the coupes and percentage & engine info for the roadsters. Although it is possible to read (most) transmission info from a roadster VIN this (GM) info is/seems unreliable and therefore I do not to include that at this time and will only list transmission info for the coupes
At first it seems a bit complicated. But as soon as you realize what the heck I was thinking you will appreciate it (I hope)
Coupe Production:
This production is included in the tables above. But because there are so many Coupe fans below a "Kappa Coupe Production based on VIN" table dedicated to those unique Kappas!
Note: In this forum it is reported that sequential 106110 is a Coupe. According to the VIN and photos this is not a coupe.
Please be aware that above tables:
- consider Kappas a Coupe / Roadster when the VIN indicates it is Coupe / Roadster (sixth digit is a 2 / 3). No matter what the body looks like.
- consider Kappas a Solstice / Sky / GT / G2X when the VIN indicates it is Solstice / Sky / GT / G2X. No matter what the body looks like.
- So a prototype Coupe made from a Roadster VIN Kappa, like for instance 1G2MF35X58Y0026EX, is not in the coupe list.
- Some more info on these exceptions can be found in the post "The Odd Ones" from Apr 2023, which can be found further down this thread.
Model Year vs Calendar Year:
Last but not least the "Kappa Production based on VIN - Model Year vs Calendar Year"
Is interesting to see how much off set there is between Model Year and Production Calendar Year.

Model Year 2007 was produced for a very long time, a whopping 19 months

Small Print:
I gave it my 100% , but I have no way of knowing how complete / incomplete these lists are. I guess only the Wilmington Factory Cat knows that.
