Car sat overnight and it rained hard, came out to find water pooled in the shift boot and droplets on the seats. Lots of water around the latch too.

My weather strips appear to need replacing - any idea how much, and is it DIY friendly??

If you are speaking of the windshield weather strip it is very simple to replace. There are a couple of plastic push pins on each side at the bottom of the seal and some rtv sealant on the very edge. Once removed simply pull the striping off. It fits in a grove around a windshield frame and it will take a little force to remove it. Gm part number is 15859805. I have some good used ones if you want to go that route. New ones are around $300
