4. no storage cubbies in the doors.

I believe GM came up with a winner with this car. The only thing that doesn't fit the "roadster" model is the big radio antenna. I guess that would be a dislike.

It is beautiful and affordable.


Cons:

They are hard to obtain and won't outperform a Ferrari.....

We got a lot of car for the price (even for the price of the options). I love the styling and handling. The top is easy to raise and lower. I don't like the lack of storage cubbies. (What's in the door, so that they couldn't make some storage room?). I don't like not having a spare tire. I hate the "CLUNKING" when shifting. All in all I LOVE IT !!!!! :yesnod:

Not having driven a Solstice, here are my thoughts from all I've read about it.

Likes:
- Gorgeous looks, 1st and foremost
- LOW price
- Responsive handling and roadholding
- Excellent steering effort, feedback and ratio
- Acceptable ride and comfort for a light car
- Perfect size and appropriate weight
- Clean look with top down under rear deck
- Gets good fuel economy
- It is a domestic car

Dislikes:
- Lacks trunk space and other storage
- 4-banger powerplant (want V6 or I6)
- Not enough HP and torque
- Large wheels and tires (prefer P225x17s)
- Lack of a spare tire
- The car is too wide by at least 4-inches
- The belt-line is too high through the center
- Sand & steel interior - never liked it
- Roof operation
- Rear end gear is too low (Prefer 1 step taller to 3.73)
- Rear view mirror is too big
- Side mirrors are too small
- No coupe option

SOLSTICE v. 330Ci

When I found out my car would not be built this year, I purchased something to hold me over until next year. I been drving my 330Ci for 6 days now, here's the comparison:
Solstice ------------330Ci
Likes
1. Size ------------Sol wins, 330 19 inches longer
2. Styling ---------Sol wins
3. Features--------No contest, 330Ci wins
4. Handling---------Pretty close, slight edge to Sol (R&T 0.88g v. 0.85g)
5. Performance-----330Ci, about 1 sec fast 0-60, tons of torque
6. Price------------Used 2001 330Ci about same as new Solstice
7. Roadster--------No, coupe with power sunroof

Dislikes
1. Trunk space-----------------330Ci has real trunk
2. No Spare---------------------330Ci has full-sized spare
3. No power door lock switch-----330Ci has door lock switch
4. no storage cubbies in the doors.--330Ci has cubbies
5. Lack of storage behind the seat ---330Ci has back seat
6. No height adjustmant for the driver's seat---330Ci has height and thigh adj.

So after going through this list and recognizing I am living in the world's second coldest capital, I will have a major decision next year, if/when my car progresses beyond a mere order.

1-budget rwd/irs 2-seater from GM?!
2-looks fricking SWEET!

Dislikes:
1-it's at least 250 lb. OVERWEIGHT!
2-no coupe version (yet?)

I like the car for what it is. I don't have any dislikes....maybe some inconviences....

a) I would like to be able to raise the steering wheel column a little higher
b) It would be nice to be able to purchase an after market lock for the little cubby between the seats
c) There should be a zero cost Goodyear F1 tire option
d) Some how move the power window switches closer to the front of the door. The are set too far back on the door in their current location.

I would like to have a telescopic steering wheel and a place to hang my cell phone. I also think the steering wheel controls are too small. I find it easier to adjust the stero at the stero because my hand is usualy there on the shifter anyway.

Overall I am very pleased with this car and think they got this car right.
