I'm doing an engine swap in an RX8 and will be using the Solstice manual trans. I've purchased a new transmission but I need to swap the tailshaft housing with the version that uses the PPF (power plant frame). Some here call it a torque arm. The bar between the trans and diff.

Does anyone have that part on a bad transmission that they would be willing to part with? Or know someone? Or wants to trade a non-ppf tailshaft for a ppf tailshaft?

I'd try the used parts houses, but to aid your search, I think you mean part #12 (middle right) right? :

Yes part #12. In the catalog they show two part numbers and I'm not sure which one has the 2-bolt ears for the ppf.

Well, I believe the torque arm was used on like 08 and up or something like that, if someone can confirm this I can look up the part number. Better yet, give me the vin of a car equipped with one

Try Stricker Auto In Batavia Ohio 800 508 2888 they have a good selection of low mileage parts for our cars I have dealt with them they are decent honest people .

I don't have a Solstice or know anyone I could grab a vin from.

I'll give them a shot but most parts stores want to sell the whole trans. I got this one new for $200 so I couldn't pass it up, but, no PPF mount.

I think the one you're looking for is PN# 19133213,used on the later cars. Nalley wants $252 for that extension housing. Junk yards will want to sell the whole trans. Good luck!
