a) "starting" means "whatever possible is an option".
b) "around $20,000" probably means closer to $22,500
BTW I agree that the first 911s were for the gods - they were the only ones who could drive them. There were so many "incidents" that the 1969 models had the wheelbase extended by over 2" replacing the ballast previously added to the bumpers for stability.
