2013 September Michigan Kappa Club Cruise – Sunday 9-8-2013 Noon-4 p.m.
________________________________________
Come Join the Kappa's on the “Lifestyles of Oakland County” Run, sponsored by the Doc’s (Radio and X-Ray) on behalf of Turbo Mike. (A return of his run from 2009). The only MKC sponsored run in September 2013. There was a time, not half a decade ago, when Oakland County, MI was the second most wealthy county in the United States. Drive past many of the magnificent properties of Oakland County.

A beautiful 88 mile ride from Bloomfield Hills to Chelsea, MI. Lots of winding, tree-lined roads along lakes. See magnificent homes, and the villages of Hamburg, Lakeland, Pinckney, Gregory, Stockbridge and Chelsea.

Ride will proceed rain or shine, top up or top down.

The ride will be of the parade/caravan type. Turn-by-turn directions will be provided. One scheduled 20 minute break will occur at the midpoint of the ride (about 75 minutes) at a McDonald’s restaurant.

The ride will conclude at Cleary’s Pub in Chelsea, MI about 4 p.m. A menu can be viewed online at Clearys Pub - Home. Names will be drawn at dinner for prizes.

If any non-MKC members wish to join the ride, please E-mail Jim at [email protected] to ensure restaurant accomodations, door prizes and enough written materials.

Driving Directions to the Point of Origin:
Cranbrook Schools
39221 Woodward Avenue
Bloomfield Hills, MI 48303

This is the same starting point as the Thursday Kappa Woodward Cruise (8-15-2013) gathering point in the Kingswood Campus Parking Lot at Cranbrook Schools. Enter Cranbrook on the right from Southbound Woodward Avenue at Tamarack Way. This is approximately the 17 Mile Road area South of Long Lake Road and North of Lone Pine Road on Woodward Avenue. Travel 0.4 miles on Tamarack Way and turn left into the Kingswood Parking Lot.

There will be NO bathroom facilities available at the point of origin in the Kingswood Campus Parking Lot. The nearest fuel stop is one-half mile North at the corner of Woodward and Long Lake.

RUN GUIDELINES:
1. Arrive BEFORE Noon, with a FULL tank, and an EMPTY bladder.
2. Use your turn signal so everyone in the caravan can anticipate the turns.
3. Stay in close proximity to the car ahead, so no one gets separated from the group.
4. Two-way radios will be used. About ten loaner radios are available for use by those who need one.
5. The speed limit will be observed (and occasionally adhered to, particularly in town or congested/residential areas.)
6. Collector points will follow any instances where we may momentarily become separated.
7. Solo drivers are invited to drive mid-pack, so as to be less dependent on written directions.
8. A Waiver of Liability will be available for your signature prior to receiving your "Directions Packet".
9. Organizer Cell numbers for any concerns prior to or during the ride: Jim-734.612.5400 Carter-248.231.1031
