Heat Shield

Sanded as best as possible with 400 grit wetordry sandpaper.

Used 3 coats of Dupli-Color engine high-temp black gloss with 1 coat of high-temp clear coat for the valve cover.

For the heat shield we just used 1 coat of the Dupli-Color engine high-temp black gloss and 1 coat of high-temp clear coat.

Here's a before and after. A friend helped out and we thought it came out pretty good with a cost of about $20.

Nice! Now that I see it, I'm thinking my heat shield is going to get a similar treatment very soon.

I wish I would have got an up close picture of the heat shield before it got painted, but I just sanded it down with 400 grit wetordry sandpaper. It had just a little rust and was pretty dirty and came out really good in the end.

Be sure to keep an eye out for leaks.
I have been, so far so good. I did buy a gasket just in case but I think I am safe to say I can return it and put $37 back in my pocket for the next project...re-doing my calipers
