Hello, It's been awhile, but I'm just about to pull the trigger on a very nice 08 Base, automatic with 43k miles. Although I'm not a mechanic, I still like to do preventive maintenance on my cars, like changing all fluids, belts, and plugs.....do these cars have plugs? Is the transmission sealed? etc. What can I use on the top to preserve it? Any other ideas are welcome...Thanks!

yes, the cars have spark plugs

303 or raggtopp to clean & preserve the top

there is lots of reading you can do on this forum to any topic you choose.

simple use google to search. example -> raggtopp site:solsticeforum.com
or plugs site:solsticeforum.com

the best thing about this forum is that it contains the lessons of all owners, and you can search to find an answer to any question
( which you can not do on facebook )

welcome!

you are gonna like this car. Belts and plugs are easy to change. transmision is sealed but can be checked for fluid level from underneath. Oil filter is super easy: right on top of engine. Changing coolant can be difficult sometimes but not teribly so. Other members can suggest top treatments. I haven't had my top up in two years so it still looks new. Check your VIN for recalls. Especially for the passenger seat sensor..
