The buzz in Detroit says that the initial Solstice will last 6 model years, with a second generation (hopefully they'll be one!) due out for the year 2012. I hope they don't go in Corvette's recent direction by putting a dated Camaro front end on the car. How can they improve this car without taking a step down? I mean design-wise, not performance-wise. If anybody's an artist in this forum, why don't you come up with a new design and post it. We'd all like to see! Later!

When you think that the Miata didn't change much over the past 15 years (excluding the new 2006 Model) I don't think Pontiac/GM will have to do much to the Solstice over the next decade.

Typical year over year changes (just speculation):

Late 2006/2007: GXP version in addition to the normally aspirated Solstice
Automatic
2008: Color changes
2009: More hp for base model/GXP model and color changes
2010: Special Option Packages/Limited Editions
2011: Slight styling changes to nose and rear maybe interior too
2012: Grand Touring Edition (GT), push button start introduced
2013: Electric version (I hope not, but what the heck)
2014: Hydrogen version (now we are getting goofy)
2015: ???
