Yeah, I bought our Solstice for the wife so she could enjoy it and get some wind therapy when needed. As it turns out, I put 99.9% of the smiles on it. :D

Haha! I'm pretty sure my wife will put the majority of miles on this car. I have another Pontiac that I spend most of my time in.

Ah Yes, the mighty GTO. My son has one, he's now on his third engine. Not due to any reliability issues, he likes drag racing. He's now got a 7 liter engine in it. Damn thing scares the hell out of me. :D

I bought mine new in 2005. It has 146k on the odometer, but about 6k miles ago I installed a new GM crate LS3. I love driving it. It's a 6-speed.

Excellent! His is also a six speed manual. I'll bet yours is much quieter. When he starts it, the garage rumbles, when he revs it up, the ground shakes. Needless to say, I'm not into drag racing. ;)

BTW, I'm also a former pilot although my aircraft's wings rotated round and round. ;)

Congratulations on the GTO. Our family had an Aussie-derived Chevrolet Omega (Holden Commodore). Loved to drive it! Even with the 3800 V6 and a 4-speed slushbox it was quite fast. Such a comfortable and reliable car. The GTO was an American-spec Holden Morano (the coupé for the Commodore). I can only imagine what 2 doors less, 2 extra cylinders and 2 more speeds would do to improve the performance 😁

Just purchased a 2008 GXP two days ago. I'm glad to see there is a forum for Solstice owners whose experience I'm sure I'll rely on in the future.

The Solstice will be driven primarily by my wife who is retired like I am. She has always wanted a yellow convertible sporty car and I am a lifelong Pontiac person, so when I came across this Solstice we checked it out and drove it home. It's fairly low mileage (just turned 30k during our test drive) so we're hoping to get a lot of driving fun from it.

I know I'll have a few questions as we get to know the car so I look forward to sharing information with forum members.

Nice to be here.
Welcome

Fellow Goat owner here. You have one of the last GTO's, I've got one of the first - '64 convertible, 4spd.
