Impulse buy. Clean car with under 43,000 miles on it. I've been working 400 miles from home and riding motorcycles back and forth. It has been a rainy summer and on my last ride I started thinking about convertibles.
Picked the car up yesterday and drove it 430 miles today. Fun car, but still prefer two wheels.

My touring bike has more luggage space than this car. LOL! I will have to figure something out for Labor Day weekend when I take my wife and the Solstice to the Smokies.

Congrats!

If your near the area, check out the Kappas On Tour event in the Southeast Region section below. It will be the weekend before Labor Day this year and is definitely worth checking out....fun group of people.

Welcome, my wife and I have done a 10 day vacation without a trailer or luggage rack. It just takes a bit of planning and advance thought. Enjoy the new wheels and take the opportunity to talk to other Solstice people when you get to meet them.

Welcome to the forum! Nice ride. My wife and I did a week at Disney with the top still in the trunk. Just had to rethink the priorities.

Before I went Solstice shopping, Black was my 1st pick. Nice. I ride too but not near as much as you. my bike is in 100 pieces right now. doing the rebuild and re-paint. since I just bought my 2nd Sol, we are trading in our SUV and I just might put a hitch on the 06. enjoy it bro.

I've been traveling by motorcycle for years. Got no problem traveling light. Just picked up a couple 10 x 12 x 24 inch bags to put in the space at the back of the trunk. I figure that when my wife is with me I will keep the top up until we get to our destination. Then we can put the top down to enjoy the local roads. Looking forward to driving in the mountains Labor Day weekend.
I've had the car 4 days now and have put 500 miles on it.

I've been doing a lot of searching and reading on the forums. Also read the owner's manual cover to cover.

The dealer I bought the car from did a 172 point inspection and I got a copy of the report so I have a great starting place to work from.

I didn't see any labels on the fuel inlet stating what octane to use so I put 87 in the tank, and I'm sure the dealer filled it with 87 when I picked it up. The manual says I can run 87 unless I hear any valve clatter. I haven't heard any, but will probably put in a tank of 89 next to see if I notice any difference.

two - I bought the Kappasphere luggage and explained to my wife that "if it fits in the bags, it fits in the trunk". She has done well with that which is impressive. (We used to travel with a 32 foot travel trailer so she'd bring 3 of EVERYTHING!)
