OK, some new stuff...to take the pressure off of small dealer again. ;)

1. No OnStar for EOP units (Sep 05 availibility)
2. Current 2.4 engine upgrades will not fit this 2.4 (all new engine)
3. Rollbar/other racing GMGoodwrench parts are being developed, plan on having GM sway bar, bushing kits, and other suspension compnents available for EOP delivery units.
4. 1 set of golf clubs in a medium, soft bag will fit with the top down, 2 sets with the top up.
5 The Torrent will have heated cloth seats avail (just checking to see who's reading all of this, but it really will.)
6. Next IDL sometime in May, will announce ride & drive cities/dates
7. Milage 24/28
8. No plans for new engine models at least until 07
9. More shoulder room than 05 Mazda
10. Remote start, removable hardtop being considered for late 06.
11. Solstice CANNOT be flat towed at this point
12. Plan on offering 2nd top color for 06.
13. Top is mfd by Haarts company (premium brand,) w/ 5ml laminated backlight & rear defogger std.
14. All uplevel radios are XM compatible.
15. Has integrated aero fearrings to cut down wind noise/buffetting
16. Pedals are placed for heel-toe driving (nice for you road-racers!!)
17. Allocations are supposed to be out tomorrow for normal retail units.
18. Sky will begin prod. in Jan 06
19. Enjoy, have beautiful day...weather is gorgeous here in NW Ohio.

Can't be flat towed? What the...? Why not?
Realize, had a marketing guy, and a product guy. Had to do with linkage in the transmission. I think what he really meant was that they haven't been able to test yet to find the proper procedure to flat-tow, just didn't come out that way.

Thanks, conejo148

Several naive questions:

2. Current 2.4 engine upgrades will not fit this 2.4 (all new engine)
What type of engine upgrades are we talking about?

11. Solstice CANNOT be flat towed at this point
What do you mean by flat towed? Would use a flat bed, right?

15. Has integrated aero fearrings to cut down wind noise/buffetting
What's an aero fearring?

Thanks in advance!

They're refering to the older Cavalier/Sunfire 2.4L Quad4 engine (pre-ECOTEC). There's a Supercharger kit for that engine you can get from GM Performance Parts.

I'd also appreciate it if somebody could explain the "flat-towed" thing more completely. Does that mean it can't be loaded onto a flat-bed tow-truck? If so, is it because of the low ground clearance on the front bumper? At any rate, it should be able to be towed by a standard tow-truck, correct?

Also, is the rear window glass or plastic? I thought it was glass originally, but just got the impression it was plastic.

On the towing I'll bring up conejo148's quote:

Probably nothing, just means they have not tested it yet. Can't see any reason why it can't be towed on flatbed?

On the rear window...it's glass.

edit I stand corrected, here is what I thought::Flat-towed means hooked up to the back of a tow truck and "towed". Certain cars have restrictions on this based on freewheel capabilities or low clearance issues. Restrictions often apply to 4wd vehicles.

So if flat towing is behind motor home we still then need aclarification on hook or tiltbed.

Thanks Steve. Once I saw Myra's new hair style, I set a tape in the VCR and went back to work. :) Guess I will "listen" to it later.

How do you remote-start a manual transmission since you have to press in the clutch to start?

Probably an option for the auto transmission which is scheduled for Jan/Feb 2006 (I believe)
