New to the forum, and a co worker of mine has a Solstice issue with oil in the MAF area. I recommended he also look at IAC to see if it is oil or dirty due to a idle issue intermittently.
I drive another GM product where I have low tension oil rings and I fought oil consumption and my PCV being overwhelmed by oil in intake manifold.
I finally went this route of filtration of the air to the manifold via the PCV system. Its a long read paper, but my manifold is dry now. There are many catch cans out there, this one worked for my. My engine makes 515flywheel HP, so it is not a stock engine, and with low tension oil rings, it taxes the PCV system.
Hope this helps.

This is very interesting, timely and informative. I am currently in the process of a EFR upgrade and have been looking at various options to curb intake valve coking.

I to have a very 'long read' from a company called Powell Racing. They have spent significant resources in an effort to find a solution to this problem. I will, more than likely, be pursuing the Powell solution. It is not cheap - $400 to $500, but it seems as though their system has sound science attached to it, and they have had great success on the track, which can only equate to better results on the road.

I have a document from them. It's a long and very in-depth read. The trouble is, is that it is 6mb in size and the Forum only allows 1.95mb files to be attached.

If anyone is reading this, I would love to put this information out there, but need a method to create a link (need a host) for a *.docx file.

This really is an interesting subject, that GM has obviously 'dropped the ball' on. I believe it seriously effects anyone who is, or who is planning to make big horsepower numbers from the LNF (and other GM engines).

I am sure there is a way to photobucket it or something similar and use the link?
I also know BLOWERWORKS makes a PCV valve specifically for boosted engines. [email protected] is very helpful. He wont sell ya something unless he feels you need it. Very good in boosted community.
