We attended the Gunnison Car Show for the fourth year in a row. This year we took 10 cars with us including Bob and his lovely wife who were recognized for traveling the longest distance to attend. They drove through a flash flood and had some serious adventures. I will let him tell you about that.

Here are some pictures of us going and arriving

The car show has been in existence for over 25 years. They have 250 cars there this year. The event includes a main street event the night before the show where the entries all line up on closed main street and basically have a street party. Elvis was there LOL. lots of food and drink as you might imagine. Was a ton of fun.

On Friday Augie lead us on a cruise up the mountain to a great rustic restaurant at a tiny fishing village. 40 miles of mountain twisties in the sun was just what we needed. The food at the restaurant was fantastic.

We got to choose our own parking places at the show and it looked great to see all the cars lined up together. Even Bob's Globe and Anchor was looking good!

The show attracts a lot of different cars. They have everything from 1919 Ford to brand new Vettes. One of the nice things about this show is they have many classes so there is room for everyone to show up and have fun.

We had a great drive home in the morning after the show and were home by noon.

The club received an award because of the commitment to supporting the show. Jim and Lynette wine the Sports car reconditioned category. Punisher won the sports car modified class.

We are already signed up for next year.

Thanks Rob for the invite and we truly enjoyed the event. As you mentioned the trip there and home was not quite as fun. You can read about that in the Gunnison car show thread if you like.

The show on Friday night was really fun, met a lot of people and saw cars I had never seen before. We also had a great group of Sky's and Solstices', I thin 12 was the final count. Food was your choice and from what I heard everywhere people went they enjoyed the service and the food. This is a very nice town, with very friendly people. A good car show to plan to go to for sure. Just a little too far for us for next year, a little over 1900 miles in 4 days with two shows, a flash flood was enough for us.

Saturday was again a beautiful day, and we all lined up together, a lot of very nice Kappa's there. My favorite was the stock Ruby Red one. Gorgeous car. Bill's Sky #44 and his trailer were unique, and Bill was his usual hilarious self. Rob was a great host, helping everyone with set up and information. A Great time for all that were in our group I think.

We signed in as part of the Colorado group, so want to thank them for the hospitality and friendship. A nice day for sure.

Just had a learning experience.

I have had American Modern agreed value insurance for several years. However the value was about half what I wanted to carry. My agent has been trying to hook me up with Hagerty. I got a quote from them and after jumping through hoops for weeks was about to send them $$ when I decided I better check with AM first. They looked at the same appraisal that I showed to Hagerty and agreed to the same value but at half the cost.

Made me very happy.

I owe all this good luck to Bob because he got me motivated to make the change! >:)

Picked up the painted caliper covers for the dragon. Another project!

I am going to add the dragon in black to each cover before they are installed.

I bought spare clips and cables for the tulip panel flaps several years ago. I just decided to pick up a spare set of flaps. But then I was motivated to go look at the rest of the hardware. It turns out that much of the hinge hardware is no longer available from GM sources. And it is very expensive. One side hinge is $30 plus. The hinge pins are $30 each. To replace the hinge parts is well over $100. So when I found a tulip panel assembly, which lists currently at $750 for $249 on ebay I decided to pick one up. It will go into the parts bin along with the new top for Punisher.

Spent half the day yesterday working on Brian's car. Finished hooking up his front LED lights and he finished bolting up the front bumper cover. Nice results.

Did some touchup to the driver's side that got scratched when backing off the trailer. Not happy but there you are.
