Always fun having to rely on others
Even when you don’t chisel on price or set unrealistic deadlines. They can’t get it done. Seen more than one that would be very well off if they could get their act together. Here’s hoping for the best
Wow, thanks for the update Rob. I'm so sorry to hear that the saga's continuing.
Did Chip actually spray cars or was he just the owner? Is it possible that he could shoot paint on it at his own garage? If he doesn't have the equipment at his place then maybe you could turn your garage into a paint shop and have him come to your place?
Jeff is not a painter. Joe is but the real issues are related to matching the paint. Turns out what makes the paint look great makes it very difficult to match. Some match the bottom layer but not the top, which are different color tones. And the latest is getting the flop correct. Which is tones and how the paint is applied.
Friday update. Visited the car. The hood has been sanded and looks much better. Good in fact. They did a trial fitting on Thursday but did not have enough arms and legs to get it fitted correctly. The lead tech called Norm . . .and Norm answered! They had a good conversation about fitting the hood. They were going to do it again with more bodies Friday afternoon. I am hopeful that maybe next week? Maintaining positive thoughts.
I thought you were going to say the painter was going to work from Home! Sorry to hear about the drama, I don't know what it is about paint shops, when you find a good one, they usually sell it or the owner dies before you car is done.
So I got in my RK Sport hood and body kit. I have to say I am quite a bit shocked at how much work has to be put in just to get them paint ready.
Even with them taking 5 weeks to get the parts to me (when they claim 7 day turn around). They should have come in paint ready after 5 weeks!!!
I first saw this problem at MD mod meet 6 where DBG pointed out at least one owner's roof worn through contact with the trunk liner. The problem occurs at the rear fold where the sides of the roof crease out and the points of the creases rub against the side walls of the trunk liner. If you...

Wind deflector/screen/shield best?
Need some first hand experience/impressions. The Senoff is the least expensive (at $80)and made out of Optix (What are the others made of?). Then there is the Kappshield for $10 more, and the Restrictor V1 and V2 for $100 more. :willy:
The graphic is cool but...
I was thinking of getting carbon fiber for my dash and panels. Probably two tone. I have an extra dash I was thinking of doing it myself to practice. I would prefer to have it done professionally but I'm not sure of the pricing.
Has anyone done that themselves recently? Any pics you can...
