One of the things I learned by R&Ring the bumper cover was that the crack was not caused by leaning on the car as I had initially thought. Instead it was due to stresses induced when the badly run body shop reinstalled the bumper and the new hood. What they did was get the center top bracket - where the center of the bumper cover bolts onto the structure under the center portion of the hood - misaligned. It is too low on the right side. This resulted in a twisting of the cover such that while it met the bottom inside corner of the right headlight, by the time it got to the outside corner of the headlight, there was a large gap. Then the hood outside the headlight was at a 15degree angle with the bumper cover. Rather than fix the problem correctly by realigning the center bracket to correct the angle of the cover, they tried to force the end of the bumper cover up to meet the now distant hood. This put a lot of tension stress on the cover in the area immediately under the outside corner of the headlight. Which is where the crack developed. When we pulled the cover and realigned things, a lot of this stress was removed and the issue is much better. I still need to pull the cover and move the center bracket about a quarter inch lower on the right end but that will come later.

PunisheR is going into Ride and Joy tint shop for the ceramic windshield film and a brow. And hopefull the text will be installed as well. The Hauler goes in Friday morning for the text. Hope to have both done in time for Garage Day on Saturday

Strobe came over and lent a hand with replacing the steering wheel in the PunisheR Hauler with one equipped with remote audio controls and heat.

We had a bitch of a time getting the stock wheel off. Took a lot of banging and hammering. The airbag took almost an hour to get off. One of the latches just would not release! But finally got it off. Then we had to pull the cover off the column so we could replace the clock spring! Always makes me nervous but it went very well. I drank coffee while Strobe did the swap. LOL

Now have to program the computer to recognize the steering wheel heater.

I rolled around under the Dragon for an hour and got the under hood green strobe light wired into the switch block in the trunk. Fun times. Lots of crawling and reaching and hooking and cutting but it now works. Finally. This pretty much completes the light install on the Dragon. Wheel lights, under hood green strobe and a pair of buttress hole green strobes. They work great. I am declaring success for now.

did you put in the steering wheel eater control module?

and you needed a steering wheel puller to get the wheel off. I could have lent you one.

I just noticed some weird stress cracks on Jazz' front bumper. You mentioned it's been off before. I wonder if it's the same thing. I'll try to get some photos in the next few days.

I have done some research about modifying the bracketry on the front of the LS. Dave told me that he delayed shipping the car because he wanted to install the pretty March Performance brackets and devices.

I looked into the possibility of installing a shorter water pump to bring the main pully back from the radiator without having to do major surgery on the whole shroud and front end. I sent the dimensions and pictures to a couple of experts in this area and they told me that they had their own kits that were basically the same dimensionally but they could not move anything back because it will not fit in the car.

I did some careful measurements and I have to agree. The forward spacing is pretty much fixed by the narrow engine bay in the front. Moving the plane of the serpentine belt to the rear is not possible because the AC and alternator are restrained by the front of the right head and the block.

So essentially they were forced to replace the stock mounting brackets with the after market due to packaging constraints.

I found this information educational.

KG wants to do surgery on the front of the car to slant the radiator and gain better airflow. We may end up doing that but I am going to try a couple of other things first to see if they help. More later. :)
