I have the radio/single cd/mp3 option. If I push the clock button I can set the time and date, then push the arrow and set 12 or 24 hour selection. When I am using the radio/cd or if it is off, I can always see the time. But I can only see the date display when I am in the clock setting mode. I tried following the instuctions, but this is the only way the date will display. Does anyone else have this problem? Or maybe I should ask...does anyone else get the date to display all the time?

Not to hi-jack your thread... but I have a question about the radio funtions as well.

When listening to an MP3 cd there are 4 options displayed.

RDM - random
< - back 1 folder
> - forward 1 folder
and then on the far right of the display is a CD with an arrow... I hit that and then it says (processing)... WHAT IS IT DOING?

On the date time;
To change the time default setting from 12 hour to
24 hour or to change the date default setting from
month/day/year to day/month/year, press the clock button
and then the pushbutton located under the forward arrow
label. Once the time 12H and 24H, and the date
MM/DD/YYYY and DD/MM/YYYY are displayed, press
the pushbutton located under the desired option. Press
the clock or MENU button again to apply the selected
default, or let the screen time out.
On the MP3 player;
h(Music Navigator): Use the music navigator
feature to play MP3 files on the CD-R in order by artist
or album. Press the pushbutton located below the
music navigator label. The player will scan the disc to
sort the files by artist and album ID3 tag information.
It may take several minutes to scan the disc depending
on the number of MP3 files recorded to the CD-R.
The radio may begin playing while it is scanning the disc
in the background. When the scan is finished, the
CD-R will begin playing again.
Once the disc has been scanned, the player will default
to playing MP3 files in order by artist. The current
artist playing is shown on the second line of the display
between the arrows. Once all songs by that artist are
played, the player will move to the next artist in
alphabetic order on the CD-R and begin playing MP3
files by that artist. If you want to listen to MP3 files
by another artist, press the pushbutton located below
either arrow button. You will go to the next or previous
artist in alphabetic order. Continue pressing either
button until the desired artist is displayed.

Thanks, but I can read. That's straight from the owners manual. Problem is, as I stated above, the date only shows when I am in the setup (clock) mode. Is it supposed to show otherwise? (re-read my post above, it was very specific, thanks).

That's why I posted it, it makes it sound like the items should become defualt once you follow those steps to make them default. I'll mess around with it after work to see what I can get it to do.

I got a chance to mess with the radio too now. Even though the manual uses verbage that makes it sound like you can show it I found no way to get the date to show.

I was just out in my Sol... and tried to get the date to show... again, no matter what I did/do the date never shows... off/on... what ever... again, seems kind of dumb to ask for date entry then never display it... Oh Well... I guess If you don't know what date it is then you probl. shouldn't be driving anyway.... LOL

Sounds good... but the Gov. keeps changing the date for Daylight Savings time so how does the program keep up with the changes... It's the end of the month I think.. :)

Let me know if you find anything. Maybe it's only supposed to be visible (date, that is) in setup mode. Afterall it is easy to click the clock button to see it. But it seems like it would also be easy to include the date anytime the time is displayed (as long as their is room on the display of course).

Radio has a clock and it probably wants to know so it can change the time for daylight savings for you.
I thought that was it at first but it's not. You would have to then also be able to tell it if you're in a DLST state or not. Not all states have DLST. Also wasn't DLST moved something like 3 weeks this year? The computer would have no knowledge of that and would adjsut the time at the wrong time of the year.

I noticed that if the date was also displayed in line with the time you would pretty much use up all of the Radio info and MP3 info space to display information, titles, artist, station, etc.

If the radio system is completely off the time displays with plenty of room for the date to display also, but it does not.
