Anyone else have same/similar issue?......

Intermittently, the stereo volume decreases when driving and hitting bump in the road... sometimes another bump will reset the volume, sometimes not. Sometimes I am able to reset the volume by tapping on the radio face.
It doesn't sound so much as the volume decreasing as it sounds like the signal is being diverted or filtered out, if that makes sense.

Had a bluetooth phone installed a couple of years back (that uses the radio speakers and steering wheel controls).... not sure if this is a factor as the issue only arose this summer.

Anyone?

I noticed today that it acted up just after finishing a phone call (where the speakers were used for the call)..... a while later, it stabilized.

I have a similar problem to mcpig. Only on the aux it would intermittently buzz, not get full stereo, or get low volume. Sometimes if I plugged the power into my iPhone it would help, then other times it did nothing. Sometimes jiggling the power plug in the cigarette lighter aka power port would also help but it was all very hit and miss. Then one day out of frustration I smacked the faceplate. Fixed for months now.

There is an internal feature that automatically adjusts the radio volume up as the car gets faster. That may be the offending circuit.

Well the theory of the problem cropping up after using the blue tooth phone doesn't seem to hold..... car sits all day, start it up, radio on and issue presents itself right away.....

Here's the wiring diagram of the blue tooth unit......

If I am able to correct the problem by tapping on the radio faceplate, does it seem like the problem could be introduced by the blue tooth unit?

Well, after 2 days of the service dept at a local dealer dicking around (trying to replicate the occurrence while they had my car), I'm told they have ordered a radio and it will be covered under warranty (an extended one I purchased).

Will update once it actually goes through.

Well the radio is installed and covered under the extended warranty.

Looks better and definitely sounds better; must have been more going on than what I noticed. A happy sol ending.

ive noticed my radio will go off intermittently, well not off but to the aux input.only way to make it work is to push the band switch till it goes back on .also does this on the CD player...discovered something about this today.tires were at 35 PSI,and the ride was very"sporty".lowered them all to 29 last night and today the radio works fine,CDs dont skip either.are you sure they didnt let the air out of your tires instead???
