How do you remove the chrome bezel and gray plastic insert in the top of the shifter knob? (automatic) Can you do it without destroying the chrome ring?

Wish I could help you but both our cars are manual. The shift knob is molded onto the shift lever though.

For the record, it just pops out. A thin-blade screwdriver under the edge and prize up.
