Good weather is coming to NJ the weekend of Jan 12,2012.
There have been several threads active recently about searching for a coupe.

So, just for fun, I am planning on traveling to see a coupe.
This Aggressive GXP coupe has less than 100 miles on it.

2009 Pontiac Solstice GXP, $39,995 - Cars.com

So, ignoring the 'price' question  ,
let's say , for fun, that you or I are going to buy this car.

It has been sitting still for 3 years or more.

What questions should be asked about this car ?
What services should be performed on the car before we take possession of the car?

Hopefully they have been at least starting it up on a regular basis, and that it hasn't literally been sitting without even being started for three years.

does this imply rubber hoses may need to be replaced ?

Certainly change the fluids, probably the battery. If the tires are flat-spotted you may need to change them, but I doubt they'd need changing for dry-rot. Very much doubt you'd need to change hoses or do anything else to it, but drive.

I did visit this car.

it is in a dealer's garage, with a gto and a 65 corvette
and others.

it seems this dealer/owner is a collector.
The car is in dealer inventory, but priced not to sell.

Oh well, if I win the lottery, I can go buy it.

No, my concern would be if it had not been started for three years; that is hard on engines. But from your follow up post that the seller appears to be a collector, odds are he is bright enough to start the car up regularly.

Ooooo, well this brings back memories. In 69-70 we had two '69 Judges, one Orange like in the previous post and another dark green. Both 4 speed manuals with Hurst shifters, 400 cid. Helluva fun car in the day.

You should be able to find a better deal than that.

I love mine.
For sure. I do believe that the coupes will be at a point soon where prices won't be going down. A GXP with low miles will fetch mid 20's and stay there for now.

Another collector that believes the coupe will be collectible. He's holding on to it knowing that price is way high, but that someone that just has to have one of these rare cars now might have the $$ and desire to be in that range? He'd make a hefty profit.

Ours went out today, I put a whopping 25 miles on her, loved every minute, broke 4800 miles. Happened to be beautiful blue skys and 59* here in Denver.

$59k? I saw that too... I still check the ads once or twice a week... habit...

I just bought an identical RED one 3 weeks ago in El Paso for 20k. True mine doesn't have 78 miles on it but whoa 60K? that's twice the original sticker price...

I say keep looking... because they do not want to sell... There are still deals out there for under 30k... under 25k! I saw a Black one with only 3400 on it for like 25k...

either way I love mine good luck
