See the article at http://www.msnbc.com/id/6923821/
the results of this weekends 24 hours at Daytona where Pontiac powered 'prototypes' lead the whole race 1-2 and finished 1-3, even after lead team had to stop and change a gearbox. In fact after six hours it was Pontiac, 1-2-4-6-7, or something like that. Now, the question is, just what Pontiac engine are they using? And how soon before somebody gets one to stuff under the hood of a Solstice? Pontiac.com has some pictures of these cars and they look like they're just waiting for the Porsches and Audis to catch up.

They're using an LS series V8, a la GTO, but I don't know the specs. I love watching that race.

EDIt: After a couple minutes research, I found the specs for the Pontiac Daytona Prototype cars. Apparently it is a detroked LS6, with 5 liters of displacement. The link above gives the full specs.
