I'm currently Broadcast at 3000 (since mid Aug) and expect to be there for a while.
Last week-end I read the Road & Track review and saw the price as tested as $24,675.00. When I compared it to my own I noticed the difference was the polished Aluminum wheeels (QF8). Today I see constraints have been lifted as of week 09-01-05
I called my dealer today and asked if my order could be amended to include QF8 and he said that once it hits Broadcast it would have to be pulled back to the dealership to be amended and that I'd have to wait for a re-allocation. My reply was "NUTZ" I'm not losing my place in line...I'll take it as is.

Question is...is he correct. If I want something that was previously constrained but is now available do I get yanked out of my spot to make this happen.
This could happen to many other guys as constraints are lifted.

Can you shed some expert light on this?

Couple of house-keeping things:

First Broadcast is event code #3400. Broadcast is the last step before production Code #3000 is Accepted by Production Control. Then an order goes to #3100 Available to Sequence, than #3300 Scheduled for Production.

Secondly, There has never been a constraint on the Polished Aluminum Wheels (QF8). The only wheel constraint has been the Chrome Wheels.

To answer your question. Yes it is almost impossible to change and order after it has been "picked up" or Preferenced/Event Code #2500. Once into the #3000 group, the only way to change would be to start over again.

thanks

My phraseology needs work...i knew that 3000 was Accepted and 3400 was Broadcast (I've read the sheet) I got caught up in the intensity

thanks...I'll now be happy with what i've got...whenever I get it.
I no longer have any delusions that my 3000 will go much farther this calendar year.

Small dealer...I'm confused (easy to do)... I thought the higher the event code, the further along the process. My vehicle order event history is:

3400 Broadcast (Effective Date: 2005-08-29; End date: <blank>)
3300 Scheduled for Production (Effective date: 2005-08-29; End date: 2005-08-29)
3100 Available to sequence (Effective date: 2005-08-29; End date: 2005-08-29)
2050 Order Changed (Effective date: 2005-08-29; End date: 2005-08-29)
1101 Preliminary Order Added (Effective date: 2005-08-29; End date: 2005-08-29)
3000 Accepted by Production Control (Effective date: 2005-08-16; End date: 2005-08-16)

So what does that mean to you?

Thanks!

If my order is 3000 and if I went to my dealer and added, say, a roof liner, would it be the same as if I ordered the car today and wouldn't get the car till spring? :willy: :willy:

The 29th was a busy day for your order.

#3400 (the higher number) is still the most recent one.

After it hit #3000 on the 16th, the orderer was sent back through the system to get it lined up for its actual production.
