A tube of sunscreen. ;)

Just a tray for stuff like tire pressure gauge or pens ,but stuff does slide out easy under the extreme G forces. Gives me an idea I may try to coat with plastidip inside it. I did get a "sticky pad" in there.

Since I have a Sky, and bought the knee bolster from the Opel GT to relocate the USB port from my hacked radio, I store my ipod in that gutter. The previous owner also installed a toggle switch in the middle of that gutter to operate a bazooka tube that's in my trunk. The switch also keeps the ipod from sliding too far back.

If you leave the window down a bit in the rain the gutter will catch the water or when you open the door in the rain. There are not gutters above the window like there would be in many cars.

here I thought is was just a showy-thing.

It never occurred to me that the slot might be useful...

There is all kinds of room behind the door panels. Odd that the genius engineers at GM didn't think of making some cut outs for storage..or at least a big enough area to slide your hand into to adjust the seat back. No wonder they went BK. (Actually, my dealer said the same thing when he found out that to replace the interior door handle, they had to replace the entire panel...and the window switch holes didn't even line up with the car. Great thinking, and quality control!)

Yep, I left the passenger window down a bit one night when we had a monsoon come through and I about crapped myself when I realized what I had done in the morning when I got to the car.

A lot of water got in the car but every drop was in that gutter. Glad the GM engineers thought of that one.

Oh lucky as hell but as I said, I got NONE in the car or on the carpets and the gutter was full and about 1mm from the top.

I use this feature to store my gum while on long trips.

I think its more structureal than cosmetic.

The carpets are designed to survive the occasional wetting down. Its a convertible.
