This Tuesday July 30th my coupe will have her first film call! The independent film "The Dawson War" has cast The Freshie as the villianess, Lynn Dawson's car. The film is the second in a series from Ghost Walk Studios (first in the series was "The Farm"), and is a horror/suspense story with historical roots going back to the Civil War. The filming is in a location in Seville, Ohio. I will try to get some pictures up after the shoot.

My wife (who has movie experience) says to make sure you have the correct insurance on it. Film companies have a tendency to damage stuff and refuse to pay for it.

I have clients that rent vehicles and other things (weapons - want to borrow a Sherman tank?) and each movie has a production company that normally has no assets and is folded right after the finish of shooting, so good luck trying to collect anything from them.

We normally insist on a bond.

Thanks Jeff! It will be fun. The shoot is later in the afternoon on Tuesday - I told the producers I was going to do a meticulous detail of the car before I drive down there!

That is true, most independent moviemakers have little money and a lot of determination and heart. I am going to do the driving of the car in the scenes (stunt credit!) and the actress playing Lynn Dawson (Holly Neeley) is just going to sit in it. They used another friend's Mustang for the first movie, "The Farm". Also, I am doing contracts, SEC filings, and other legal issues for the film, and getting paid "on the back end" myself. Not a worry at all, I do a lot of pro bono stuff for indie filmmakers, including speaking at their convention every year on "Legal issues in filmmaking". I have my own IMDB page for this and other films & TV I have worked on. I will let everyone know when the film is released!

Is Our Place still going? I have not been to Solon yet this year, but August 20 is two seater night so I will probably go then. The shoot night is Solon night so I can't go next week Grace Church Thursday of next week, sounds like a winner! The big Friday cruise-in is at 100th Bomb Group now, I have been to that one twice. Hope to see you at one or another. I will call you with my new cell number!

"ok now, take that Solstice and go drive through that field of zombies over there, make sure you do some donuts and what not to mow as many of them down as you can. Oh and make sure you are mindful of the fire blasts that will go off from time to time and know where those are. Oh and don't forget to avoid the black tar pitch we ignite at the end of the shoot...."

Hey everyone, the Freshie movie shoot went fantastic! There is a "car chase" where a 66 Mustang (the director's wife's car) comes up behind the Freshie and passes it - all done pretty slow, to be sped up later. There were no problems with tar or dirt or fire, just some bugs on the front at the end! This scene could be in the trailer, more later.
