" A decade later, that disparity has made Solstice coupes sought-after modern collectibles, while the roadsters languish as second- or third-hand oddballs. "

Ouch! Hard on all the oddballs out there!

Proud member of the "oddball club " ! Hagerty uses the results from Barrett Jackson auctions as one of the factors in a collectable /specialty cars worth .I've watched a number of there auctions and am greatly amused at how much people will overpay for a Barrett Jackson car .

In the old days, the answer to the car trivia question "What cars are worth more as coupes than convertibles?" was pretty much limited to the Gullwing 300 SL and the 63 split window Vette. I would add the Jag XKE to that as I have always preferred the coupe shape (except for the MK 3 which looks pretty horrid)

There were a few coupes that were not available as drop top versions that look really good. One is the original Lotus Elite (Climax engined 1950s Lotus with fiberglass monocoque chassis).
