I've decided to go for the EDAG roof, it has grown on me a lot recently. I no longer need the trunk lid and soft top or anything that goes with it.

I have a couple bites from Craigslist already, but if anyone here is interested, please let me know. Both are in good shape, you can see the color of the car in my attached pics. Roof has 2 small fray spots at the front, trunk has a little imperfection near the center, about the size of an ant. Trunk is $500, top is $750 plus shipping

What's your thinking of selling OEM top? Generally, having the OEM parts is seen as a positive to potential new owners so they have ability to restore back to it OEM appearance.

This is just my :jm2c: but I believe it's been pretty well established on the forum that the majority of people have a love or hate type relationship with EDAG tops, so having the ability for it to be convert back to may be an option you want to consider.

Not trying to turn you off to the EDAG top (I have an uninstalled one) just wanted to mention that Smoothline still offers two different removable hardtops, the LeMans and the Club Sport.

Well, I've never been a big fan of convertibles. The EDAG roof has really grown on me, but there aren't very many examples of it online. If all goes according to plan, the original top and trunk lid won't work once the installation is complete.

After I take out the top, I want to see what can be done about removing the center waterfall and replacing it with a roll cage/support/trunk floor.

So you're thinking more along the lines of a C2 cabin? Someone else w/an EDAG is working on eliminating the maya temple by replacing it w/a fuel cell.
Custom Work Wanted Immediately! Fuel Cell/Tank - Saturn Sky Forums: Saturn Sky Forum

Another way to get additional space and flexibility would be installing C3 clamshell seats. Passenger seat fold totally in half, driver side won't because it hits the steering
I haven't gotten a chance to look at it just yet. Seeing how close the tank is to the rear wall, I'd probably just cut it to be level with the existing tank rise. The real objective is to remove anything related to the old canvas top. Relocating the fuel cell is a little more work than I'd like to do.

Don't forget that the cross piece is a strengthening member of the body. Cut that out and you'll lose a great deal of stiffness. :willy:

The coupes retain that part. Plus you may want to retain it anyway, to stop items in the 'trunk' sliding forward.

Yes that would be part of the new cage. I've seen pictures of rolled over Solstii, the "temple" doesn't look very strong anyway.

Borrowed this picture from JimVonBaden:

I just purchased a EDGA top, picked it up today, ( he had 2 unfinished ones left and one red one that was partially finished but already sold,) I love the rag top.
I will only use the hardtop in the winter, and store the trunk in the EDGA box, I am thinking I'll use it October through April.
But, as soon as the weather breaks again the hardtop goes back in the box...
Good luck with yours. :)

I see that you are also selling the motor and transmission. Can you share what your overall plan for the car is?
