Howdy y'all. Getting close to finishing my clutch install but I wanted to check and see if anyone who has installed the EXEDY clutch kit for the solstice in to their car (04802) knows if a shim is necessary. I've noticed that the EXEDY pressure plate is about half the thickness of the stock one that came out, and didn't know if it was within tolerance. Was going to call somebody at exedy to inquire about this, but wanted to check if anybody here has ran across this same question themselves and could save me the hassle. Thanks a ton!

To answer my own question - I contacted EXEDY, and was informed that this kit is an original fit clutch even though it has different physical dimensions. No shimming or modification was needed and the car works like a dream now with the new clutch installed. Hope this might help somebody down the road with the same question!
