Houston, this is tranquilizer base.......#158 has arrived.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the makers of Prozac.

It helped.

My dealer has called me. I will pick up the car later this afternoon.

I think I want to cry :cryin: but the medication won't allow me to. :willy:

I will update tonight.

I am going to start carrying my camera in the car. When my dealer calls, which I asked him to let me know when the truck showed up with my car, I plan to stop what I am doing and get to the dealer NOW. I want pics of my car on the truck.

Marco, congrats on surviving this waiting game! You give the rest of us hope that we also can survive until our "little ones" are delivered. Have a drive for me!!

Mine came by COMPLETE surprise, no advance communication of any kind, so hopefully you'll have yours sooner than you expect. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Technically speaking, my name is Mark as well. I go with Marco to differentiate.

Must be an Ohio thing.

I'm Back!

Ok, I picked up 158 today.

I learned a lesson that I hadn't read in the forum.

I was putting the top down. I released the latched on the windshield.

I then put the handle in the "stow" position.

I tried to close the trunk and the drivers side didn't go down all the way. It left me with a "trunk ajar" light and reminding bell.
Turns out that when releasing the lock on the top, keep the handle where it ends up when unlocked.

It scared me for a minute.

I told my wife to drive home. She chickened out at the last minute due to the fact she hasn't driven a stick for a few years.
I would have pushed it but to tell you the truth I couldn't wait to drive.

I got on Route 80/90 (Ohio Tpke.) and headed east.

First comment/critique. I wish GM would have used a sturdier stem for the center rear view mirror (or a sturdier mirror). The wind creates vibration that shakes the reflected image. Side views were fine.

Second critique. I've already poped out the center cup holder several times accidentally. No big deal.

3-I read that the fuel gauge was difficult to read. Granted it is a little tunnelvision, but no problem for me (6'2").

4-I didn't really get a chance to see in Detroit, but the clutch and trans feel great. No clunks, nice throw.

5-Handling........In the word of Keaunu Reeves.........."Woh"

I guess its been a long time since I've driven a rear wheel drive sports car.

You turn the wheel, the car goes where you point it. The steering does feel a little light, but its true.

Power, sound? 101 miles and counting down.

By the way, it had 24 miles on it when I picked it up. Dealer was very sensitive and apologetic for the long delivery.

I told them to give me a couple of weeks to catch up and I'll return on a Saturday for a few test rides.

I got a chance to crank up the Monsoon system. Tracks on the CD included Sheryl Crow-"Leaving Las Vegas", Cowboy Junkies-"Common Disaster" and Frank-"Fly me to the moon" and Dean-"Ain't it a kick in the head"

It goes. I about maxed out the power. Still clear at max and fairly well balanced.

I've having problems with my internet today. I'm going out for a victory cigar.

I'll check back later if you folks have any questions.

Mysterious, two tone, painted wheels, no xm, no smokers package, everything else I could get.

I hope all of you get yours as soon as possible.

The best part other than getting the car tonight was a couple of neighbors finally getting the answer to a much asked question. (did you get your car yet?)

A few new comments

170 miles and counting down (up?) to 500.

You can tell that this is a new vehicle without looking at it.

When you get to a stoplight or when the car is in my garage, the break-in smell is there. Hopefully it will go away in another 300 miles.

In addition to the rear cup holders popping out by accident, my wife keeps popping out the other cup holder. GM, please look into this for future builds.

Playing around with the equalizer and some different tunes, I am now noticing the subwoofer much more now. The jazz setting seems to be good.
One thing though, when I switch from CD to radio, I've got to make sure that I turn the volume down asap.

The heater works well to keep you warm with the top down.
I was wearing shorts at night, lower 60's(if not a little cooler) and I wouldn't put the windows up.

By the way, I've figured out a solution for those states that require a front license plate.
Just keep going back to your dealer for a temp tag.
It's nice to be legal with one plate.

One last thing. I got my first "police escort" last night. One question though, aren't they supposed to be in front of you? Oh well, he followed me to within a 1/4 mile of my house. I almost pulled over to say, "you want to look?" I was in a 25mph zone and had to keep the car in second so as to not speed.
