Well you drove your Solstice up to St. Joseph
To see the total eclipse of the sun...
The total eclipse will occur at exactly 1:06:27pm CDT in St. Joseph Missouri on August 21st, 2017. Totality will last 2 minutes and 38 seconds. The partial phase start will be at 11:40:42am at "1:00 o'clock on the sun's disk. St. Joe is just an hour north of Kansas City and 2 1/2 hours south of Des Moines. I'm already planning on having lunch in the umbral shadow. Shall we make this a Kappa event?
The southern half of St.Louis will also be a good spot for the show about 10 minutes later, but that's a little too far for me to drive for lunch. Maybe some of you may want to set up your own local event. Here is a link to a map showing the total path of the eclipse through the U.S.:
