Thoughts on these staggered wheel sizes / offsets?

Seen a Sky with these size and offset within 1mm but wondering if any one with experience on wheels with these cars would know. Love these wheels but they are special order so it is once and done....

Here are a few photos from my phone. The car has lowering springs that drop the ride height about 1 inch from stock. 25mm spacers with stock wheels:

Thank you for the pics, that's a nice looking sole right there! The stripes are very nice.. great color choice for that red. I think the spacers make the cars stantz much more masculine, how it should be. How long have you had them on or how many miles you think, any ill affects from them? Handle any better/worse?

Regarding 19x10.5 +43 rims on the back, I assume you will run a tire like 285/35/19, which has approximately the same diameter as stock.

I have 25mm spacers on stock wheels, and they poke out enough to look a little goofy (to me). I wouldn't recommend more than 25mm further out than stock. The proposed rim will stick out 44 mm wider than stock. The tire would be 32 mm out. That's way out the beyond the fender lip.

I don't think they are a good fit.
What is the stock offset?
There are mutiple offsets available , +10,12 18, 22, 25, 30, 35, etc. Also negative availabe. So Jeffrey what offset would be best on rear for no to minimal poke?
Factory is 55 on our wheels, the offset depends on what width wheel you go with also.
That stock wheel on his car has a 25mm = 1" spacer so that would make it like a 30mm offset but on a 8" wide wheel which is what our factory wheels are. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

No ill effects that I have noted. I've had the car for a little over a year, and about 1000 miles. Like you said, the stance is pretty good, but remember my car is on lowering springs too, so it would look different with stock springs. Regarding ride and handling, I think both are very good, but I never had the car in its stock form, so I'm probably not much help on that matter. I get an occasional rub on unexpected bumps. It's very infrequent, and doesn't seem to be causing any wear on the tire, fender, or plastic fender liners.

The amount of poke is a matter of personal taste. I'd prefer it if the back wheels were in about 10 mm, but it does look good as is. The front fenders have more room, so the stock 8" wheels on the 25mm spacers seems like a perfect fit to me. REMEMBER, if you go with wider wheels, you must change the offset correspondingly. For example, 8.5" rims at the same offset as the stock 8" rims will stick out (and in) 1/4" further.

Because I can't leave good enough alone, I just purchased a set of BC Racing coil-overs (and exhaust and big brake kit). The plan is to drop it down a little lower on the BC's without the spacers, and then measure for what I think is the perfect offset and wheel width for the lowered stance. The spacers and lowering springs will go up on the classifieds section of the forum. It's definitely a cool setup for not much money.

I may be interested in those springs when you are done. Thanks for the info!

I don't see how a 43mm offset would cause a 1 inch poke on a 10.5 wheel. Wouldn't the backspace allow for the wider than stock wheel to fit with the 19 inch diameter clearing the suspension?

Hi Tommy. Here is a comparison of the stock wheel and tire vs 10.5" wide 19" rim with 43 mm offset and a 275/35 tire.

Summary:
  • Tire is 3 mm (1/8") closer to suspension components.
  • Rim is 20 mm (13/16") closer to suspension components.
  • The tire will stick out 27 mm (1 - 3/32") farther than stock.
  • Rim will stick out 44 mm (1-3/4") farther than stock.
Here's a link to the calculator I used to get this info. It's really good. Change to inches in the pulldown if that's preferred.

Stock wheel is 8" with 55mm offset, now your 10.5" wheel is 2.5" wider so 1.25" on inside and out. 43mm offset puts the stock wheel out 12 mm(1/2") so the wheel is sticking out 1.75" compared to stock. You will most likely be rubbing the tire on the frame with that rim/offset. I have 18x9 with 55mm offset and 275 tires and all is good.
What do you need a 10.5" wheel for? The 9.5" wheel would be enough but not with that offset, something like a 50mm would do.

Not sure if base Solstice sits higher than GXP. But I find my car sits pretty low at stock height. I can't imagine it going even lower despite not liking the chasm of a wheel gap. I'd be worried about scrapping driveways and speed bumps.
Good stance btw... that red car.

I Would like to run a 295 or 305 tire as pictured on the red MotorTrend Solstice. I'm used to Corvettes and Vipers with fatter tires on the rear. IMO it makes these car look much better. 55mm is the closest they have in a 10.5.

They also have a narrower 19x10 with a 49mmm

If you honestly want to run a tire that large I suggest some wheel and tire shop that can simulate a wheel and tire with some contraption on your car so you can get
an idea how it'll fit, the amount of people running tires that large is slim to none and I don't want to give you any wrong answers.

First pic is a 275/40/18 on 9x18 with 55 offset
Bottom pics is my autocross setup 315/30/18 on 18x11 with 50 offset on front and 25 offset in back.
