Thanks. Now my only other question is regarding my second photo in the original post, why are images of my fingers holding a clip considered “sensitive content for over 18” by the web host? 😆

the clips I got off flebay were not hard enough plastic, they streched&broke in short time.I ended up putting the steel clips on for carb linkage.but abushing has to be made due to the hole on the flap bracket being bigger than the rod. as for the fingers...perhaps they looked like stubby leggs with no feet....or possiably the robot needs to find the buss or bycycle to prove it's not a human.

they have those clips at o'rielly auto parts, 5 bucks for about 8 of them. they are the same as door lock rod clips.

I carry 2 of those in my glovebox for either myself or a friend in need.

This forum is a wonderful well of knowledge, today I heard something snap while trying to put down the top and I might have even been scared if it wasnt for the forum explaining a million times that the tulip flap clips are the point of failure, and not only that but instantly direct me to the correct dorman replacement part thats literally 5 bucks for a pack of them and so I bought it on autozone and in less than 10 mins fixed a situation that would probably kept me awake all night worried if it wasnt for this forum
