Turn signal switch either has to be fixed or replaced. It's been discussed before. Here's a thread I started over at KP.

Turn signals not cancelling?

Bills86e,

I am sorry to hear you are having this concern with your turn signals. Sly Bob has mentioned some great things to look into. If you are interested in having your GM dealership look into this please let me know. You can certainly private message me for more information.

and not for the car either. Mine asks to borrow mine all the time and I just know I'm not going to get it back in the same condition.

I just found Tomato Soups directive in this forum, so when I pull it til it hits picture is post four bottom of the two pics.
http://www.solsticeforum.com/forum/f12/how-do-you-get-off-74406/

So now I'm going out and remove the two nuts holding the steering column up againt dash and see if I can lower my column down to get my switch out of the Box.

So you are going to follow Omw41's full and complete instructions in that same thread? : Headlight/Dimmer Lever Replacement

Should work! :)

Not my wife. She hates to use the Sol, scared she'll damage it and that I'll damage her
Yeah same here. I bought an auto back in '08 'cause my wife asked me to so she could drive it as well. Hasn't gotten behind the wheel once since I brought it home because she's afraid she's gonna do something wrong and damage the car.

The woman hasn't had an accident or so much as a parking ticket in the 31 years we've been married. :willy:

7mm, 10mm 14mm deep 1/4" drivesockets, small curve pick for lower switch e-plug clip.
Remove the plastic cover panels under the steering column and plate. 7mm.
There was a flat steel plate under the column -10mm two each side, removed left, loosened rt side, removed the 14mm two column nuts and lowered steering column til rest on loosened plate. Switch slide right out. So cool! Thanks Tomato.

I opened up the cover and I have white nylon broken bits.

Went to eBay and got an order for a new oem switch for $30 buks, delivery - 3 days.

I have 140K on my beauty, ready for third tires purchase. I like Goodyear F1 G2-D3
tred but they don't make them in my size P245/45zr18. Any thoughts?
The local Buick Dealer said RSA was oem. I'm n mid Florida, so a summer, water, &
a good mileage tire is for me. Its wet here alot. I don't veer far, and rarely hit 18 on my turbo.

Hmmm, I have a feeling that's what I'll find in my 06. left signal does not catch / lock and the right will not cancel. Since it's such a PITA to remove the dash and lower the column, I think I'm going to order a new switch first and than take it apart. Good luck on yours.
