Picked up 585 yesterday. Initial impression is WOW. Seats are extremely comfortable as is the shift. The gear throws are very short and the steering is precise. Hardly have to move the wheel to steer/turn. At 5 feet tall, I was worried about line of sight. Can't see the end of the hood so extreme care will be needed. It sounds great and is peppy enough. The top is easy enough to put up and down even for me. So far everything is perfect.

The car is great fun to drive and the reaction of passersby is fabulous. The local health department is currently investigating a sharp uptick in the number of people being treated for whiplash!

Had an impromptu Sol meet today with Excelsior (14) and Kim Morrell (782). If there's anything better than having your Solstice, it's sharing an afternoon with other Solstice owners. It was great to meet such nice people. We went for a drive through my small town. Imagine 3 Solsti in a row!

Here's some pictures of or car at delivery and the 'meet'. Not sure if the size is right, not good at this stuff. Excelsior took lots more pictures and some video of our 'parade' which he will probably post later.

Looks like the front license plate missing issue is 2 to 1 based on the photos.

Beautiful cars. Is jelousy a bad emotion? :( Enjoy your rides.

Are you 5'0? Is it still 'driveable?'

I'm 5'6 and I want to be able to see the end of the hood.

Congrats! Your car is like mine Sly with ebony interior.
Aren't they Cools, not Slys? And isn't Canal's the one with the sand and steel? Either way, question for Canal...First nice job with the pics. You must have given some thought/comparison in your head between the two interiors in the Cools? What are your thoughts? Next, the wheels really do themselves justice. Sorry Ex, I remember your issue, you got ripped. But which wheels are on the Cools? I'm assuming that their the polished rather than the chrome.

The actual owner is 5'9". I'm the short half of the pair. Kim Morrill is right - you won't be able to see the end of the hood perhaps because of the slope. I was very timid to drive it at first because of the line of sight but it's really not a different feeling than the Grand Am or Grand Prix we had. Just have to get a feel for the boundaries.

Canalsolstice is the Cool with ebony and polished wheels. Excelsior has the painted wheels. The three togther were a nice comparison of options with wheels and interiors. Both wheels looked great and both interiors were outstanding. When we ordered, the picture of the sand and steel didn't seem as nice to us as the ebony. Having seen both, I could live with either one. The leather on both is really nice - better than on our Envoys. Another case of the pictures just not doing justice for this car.

I agree with Satch on the license plate - Fugly!! KM's dealer would not let them take the car without installing the plate. Ours was willing to let it go. If you don't want it on, don't let them put the adhesive strip on. Excelsior was able to remove his from the grill but the adhesive strip wasn't used on his. Trying to remove the one from Kim Morrill's seemed impossible without damaging the grill.

Three together, I just want to see one
Also curious about your thoughts seeing the two interiors side by side
Congrats to all three!
Any new sightings in the Midwest?

Yup,

I sat in an Envious in Broken Arrow, OK at the Elks a few weeks ago. The car had "Manufacturer" tags, and was at a car show.

Excellent pics!! Thanks for posting them.

I liked the "deep" with, what looked to be "painted rims".. the best.

Too bad the dealership had to paint their name on the back of one of the silver ones though.

I hope to catch my dealer before that happens. :brentil:

The car is too beutiful for that!

Yes, they are painted on the deep and the others are polished.

The sticker on that license plate bracket is friggin nasty! A lot stickier that I would have ever imagined it. Looks like it may need a lot of help to get it off. Mine was never installed so I have a NEW one still in the bag (kinda) if anyone wants one. :glol:

If you get pulled over by the Police, then just show them this pic ... as your excuse. ;) http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=9/26015145932.jpg&s=x1
