Last night we were driving our Sky RL and when I turned left into a parking spot I received a warning beeping sound. We've Never had this before in over 15,00 miles.
Then again this morning while my wife was taking the car to work, got the same beeping while only making a left turn!:willy::confused::brentil:

What could be causing this?
And don't tell me "Just don't make left turns!". :)

Thanks for any assistance with this problem.

Not familiar with Sky DIC but is the PS fluid up to level? Anyone...would an old battery do this stuff?

Nothing on the DIC? Does it turn the traction control/ABS off? If so, brake fluid is low. If brake fluid is low, it's leaking somewhere or brakes need to be replaced.... I went through this last fall. My hose on the right rear caliper was loose.

I believe someone else reported this - the "ding" but nothing on the dic or light panel. In that case it was low coolant if I remember correctly. I believe it was during braking or turning - was just enough of a shift of the coolant in the bottle to trip the sensor but possibly not enough to illuminate the warning light.

She took it to the dealer and they ran the code reader on it and nothing showed up. They checked the fluid levels and they were all OK.
Interesting situation!
We'll have to see if it does it again.

Thanks for any assistance with this problem.

This sound isn't the normal "ding" or "beep", it's more like the annoying sound you get when they do the Warning Alert sounds on TV.
Very raspy and quite annoying. Made about 6 tones and stopped.

Thanks for any assistance with this problem.

Sounds like the warning bar on the brakes . Its a sensor on the caliber when the pads get low ,thats the sound it gives . Or could be a warpped rotor .. Did the service tech take the car for a drive and make any left turns. Checkl the Brakes

After taking the car to the dealer, and them not finding anything, my wife took it to a walmart parking lot and did a bunch of left and right tight turns and couldn't get it to repeat.
We also were wondering if it wasn't some kind of an OnStar Alert.
Our region was just hit with the Amber Alerts on our cell phones for the missing California 16yo girl.
Does OnStar do those kind's of alert? The first time the radio was off, the second time it was on. But no alert message through the speakers.
Very strange, I've never heard it in any vehicle I've ever driven in over 45 years!
Oh well, maybe as fast as it showed up...it will go away!!:willy::leaving:

Thanks for any assistance with this problem.

Sure it wasn't coming from a cell phone? The amber alert sound is apparently VERY loud and extremely annoying sounding...

Could be an intermittent problem with the ABS. Check the wheel sensors for position and tightness. Also the data lines running to them. But I would think that if this was the problem there would be a stored code that could be pulled.

Check the wheel mounting bolts, on the inside. There is a very remote chance that one of them might have come adrift. There were a few reports of the mounting bolts coming loose. I remember reading of one owner who lost one or two before he discovered the problem.

The more we think about it, It seems like it may be from these Amber Alerts.
I got another Alert today on my iPhone. So, it may have been our phones doing the alert.
The first time I only had my phone with me. The second time my wife had her's with her and the radio was on. So maybe these Amber Alerts are supposed to be annoyingly Loud so you'll pay attention to them.
The Alerts are for the 16 girl missing from California. The news around here is they found his car in the woods around Cascade,Idaho. Some people said they had seen them going backpacking with large packs.
Hopefully that is what the noises were and we're done with those for now!!

Thanks for all the assistance with this problem. What a great community the Kappa owners are!!

Well quit turning left Steve. Kids are disappearing every time you do that!
I'm sorry, it's the Nascar driver in me somewhere.
It's always left...left...left...left....:lol::yesnod::willy:
I may get over it when I get older!
