It looks like our next run will be April 22nd. The plan is to meet in the Petaluma/Rohnert Park area then drive to Point Reyes and back to Petaluma for lunch.

Please see below.

I am thinking we will meet at about 9 am, early enough to beat the crowds, but not too early. I will have to leave my house by 7 am to make it. We can take our time and not worry about a specific lunch time. I am pretty sure Mary's is open all afternoon, so we can do a late lunch if need be.

April 22

The monthly meeting for April 22 sounds great. At this time we plan to be there. In the past month I have seen 2 new Solstices on my way to work in West Sacramento. They do not know that we have something in common because I am usually in my Denali. My point is we want everyone to know this monthly dinner is open to all Solstice and Sky owners. Hopefully if you have never been on a run or the dinner you will try to join us.

I'll be there!
I take it you got the sky fixed then? That's great. I don't see why I wouldn't be there. The Central run on the 14th and this one wrap around my New Orleans trip perfectly.

You are quite the "Globe Trotter" Gunny.
I look forward to meeting you Saturday in Santa Barbara. It will be a fun run.
My GXP should show up this week. I want to break it in before Saturday.
See you then.:dthumbs:

Your not kidding. I think June is the only month right now they don't have a trip set for me to go somewhere through August. It's all buisness during the day but the evenings are mine to venture out.

Still begging the boss for Friday and Saturday (13th/14th) off but it is looking good so far.

Chance,

Just to make sure. The 22nd will be our first "Sunday" run and not Saturday the 21st.

You are correct, Gunny. This will be our first Sunday run. I imagine most of our runs in the future will be on a Saturday, but some people have to work on Saturdays. Hopefully we can capture some of them with mixing it up a bit.

I'm just glad it dawned on me or I would have been sitting in the parking lot for 24hours waiting for the rest of you so I wouldn't have to pay the bridge toll again.

I think this will be the run I'll bring my son on.

Cool! Looking forward to finally meeting the Gunny "minime". Though having Crystal along is always a pleasure.

Sunday the 22nd

The Plan:

Meet at:
Marys Pizza Shack @ 0900
359 Washington Street
Petaluma, CA
(707) 778-7200
Take the Washington Street Exit off of Hwy 101 and head west. Marys is located on the northwest corner of Washington and Lakeview Street.

We will leave Marys at 0930 and take the following route:

Head west on Washington Street
Left on Tamales Petaluma Rd. at the Coast Guard facility
Left on Hwy 1 to Point Reyes Station
Right on Sir Francis Drake Blvd and into the park. We will make a pit stop at one of the beaches before heading to the light house. Parking is limited, but I am hoping we get there early enough.
Then back thru Point Reyes Station heading north on Hwy 1
Right on Point Reyes Petaluma Rd just out of Point Reyes Station
Follow into Petaluma
Left on Petaluma Blvd.
Right on Washington Street and on to Marys for lunch.

I am thinking we are looking at a late lunch, somewhere around 1300 and 1400. If you would just like to meet us for lunch, PM me and we can exchange phone numbers. I would be happy to give you a heads up when we are heading back to Petaluma.

Chance,

Would you be interested in meeting someplace along the way so my girlfriend and I can follow you down? If my husband was going...I wouldn't mind going on our own, but I can get lost going around the block!!

Thanks

Helga,

Some of us will be meeting at the Black Oak Restaurant off of I80 in Vacaville for breakfast. You are welcome to join us if you would like or we can meet somewhere off of I80, say Pedrick Road between Davis and Dixon. There is a gas station at the exit, easy off & easy on.
I am thinking we should probably meet at the Black Oak no later than 7 AM. Let me know what works for you.

What timing!

I'll be in Monterey next week. I'm really thinking about coming up for this. Orlando may be the only one here that remembers me - or at least the only one in this thread so far I've met in person. You going, Sal?

Anyone going to have an extra seat? Anyone know if there are Sols for rent in/around there yet? If the above two options fail, can I tag along anyway in whatever cheapo rental car the gov't will spring for?

Hey Scott,
How have you been Bud?
We just had our WCKCC Central area run last weekend through the hills above Santa Barbara and Jalama Beach Rd. It was a blast.

I just traded in my 2006 for a GXP. She is a rocket.

I will not be making it to the run on the 22nd. It is my birthday and the first day of a week long Sculptor's Symposium i am enrolled in.

If you make it down to San Luis Obispo let me know. I will take you to lunch and you can take the GXP for a cruise. I will have to make sure you do not have a wrench with you. Knowing you, you will take her apart to see what makes her tick. I know, you will put her back together better then new.

Awww, c'mon. Wouldn't you like me to use your car to figure out how to wire the DRLs back to the amber "egg yolks" instead of the headlights?

Seriously, that sure is a tempting offer. I'm not sure if I could even get down to SLO any day other than your birthday, though. Happy birthday, and enjoy your sculpting symposium! Sure sounds alot more fun than the class I'll be out there for :willy:

Now I am offended.:( As I remember, you let me sit in your car (because mine hadn't arrived yet) at the very first meet in November of 2005. I know....a long time ago and I am sort of an unforgetable guy.

You are always welcome at any event here in Northern California! I am not sure if we have an open seat...if there is, I am sure you can fill it. If not, we will still associate with you....the group up here is a great bunch of people.

I'm sorry, Chance. I don't remember everyone's forum names, and don't get on here near as often as I used to. I was mostly making that assumption based on almost everyone's join date in this thread being after I left California.

I do remember alot of guys and gals from that meet. I remember giving Jim (JetBlackE31) the keys to my sol in exchange for the keys to his BMW 840, then trading those for the keys to Kappasphere's ride. I remeber giving Sal (orlando) a ride down the 1 for awhile and hoping I didn't scare him too much (must not have, if he's offering to let me behind the wheel of his GXP  ) And I remember Vincent (CrimsonAvenger) because... well, who can forget Vincent! I remember Al don't remember his forum name), because he had the Kappaphere intake.

I'll remember you, too, when I see ya again. I promise. Did we meet at the restaurant in Big Sur, or on down the coast? Gosh, I'm sorry now that I only let ya sit in the car. I should have let you take it out, or at least tried to scare the hell out of you, too

Depending on which way my jet lag is hitting me, I'll most likely make your meet. Chances are, I'll be wide awake by 4AM, so the 2.5 hour drive from Monterey to Petaluma won't be a big deal for me anyway. What else am I going to do at that time on a Sunday morning?!
