Feather River Canyon Loop, March 31st

Our first one day event is scheduled for March 31st. The plan is to meet at Mimi's Cafe (Natomas area) at 7:30 AM and enjoy breakfast, getting on the road about 8:30ish. We will head up 99 to Hwy 70 thru Oroville to the Feather River Canyon. We will have lunch in Quincy and then drive Hwy 70 to Hwy 89 then on to Hwy 49. Hwy 49 starting west from Hwy 89 is a nice twisty road. We will follow Hwy 49 thru Nevada City ending up on I-80 near Auburn. The round trip is about 300 miles, so if you would like to join us, plan on a good 7 to 8 hours including lunch and breaks.

DeChief and I ran this last weekend and it goes through some beautiful country. In the event, we have bad weather on the 31st, we will reschedule for April 28th.

While this is a club event, any one wishing to attend is welcome to join us. We will post directions to Mimi's as we get closer to the 31st. If you have any questions, please let one of us know either by PM or a post to this thread.

Again, welcome. I'm sure you'll find the guys from the Northern district very friendly. (Heck, I know many of them my self... ). It looks to be a great time, I'm sure you'll have loads of fun.

Man, you're just a traveling man! You're coming down to So Cal for the weekend meet up at Pine Mountain Club in the Los Padres National Forrest this weekend March 24/25, AND you considered going the following weekend to Feather River?

We would love to have you along. What area are you in? Pretty much the way it goes is to state here on the thread or by PM to Chance or DeChief that you will be joining the event and then just show and go from there. We have a great group and a great time.

Now you see my problem.:lol: There actually is a Mimi's at Natomas, Dechief and I ate there the day we scouted out this drive. But Mapquest keeps putting it in the wrong place when I look it up, so I guess I will have to drive there this weekend and write street names down.

The directions are pretty easy.
From I80 go west at the Truxel exit, turn right on Gateway Park Blvd, Mimi's is on the corner of Gateway Park Blvd and North Freeway Blvd. (You can access the paking lot by continuing thru the light past North Freeway Blvd. and taking the first right into the parking lot access).
From I5 go north on Arena Blvd, turn right onto Truxel, and left onto Gateway Park Blvd.
