June 8th:
7:30 pm - For those arriving Friday night, who wish to meet up for dinner, please meet in front of the Lake Land Village office. Dinner location yet to be determined.
June 9th
9:30 am - meet in front of the Lake Land Village office in the parking lot.
10:00 am - we hit the road! We will travel east on Hwy 50 around the lake to Hwy 28 and north to Incline Village. We will turn right on Hwy 431, Mount Rose Hwy and stop at the lake over look that was so popular last year. This year we will continue down Hwy 431 to Bully's Sports Bar and Grill.
Bully's Sports Bar & Grill - Bully's #2 - MT Rose
18156 Wedge Parkway, Reno, NV 89511
phone: (775) 851-7400

Please note: we had to change the lunch location due to scheduling problems. Bully's is a sports bar also and has a similar menu.
From Bully's we will continue on Hwy 431 to Virginia City. The drive from Hwy 395 through Virginia City to Hwy 50 is a fun road to drive. Has some good twisty spots. Depending on time we may or may not stop in Virginia City. During the summer parking can be a bit of a problem. Once past town we will follow Hwy 431 to Hwy 50 and head west to Hwy 395 where we will turn west on Hwy 89 and follow it up through a great canyon road to Markleeville. If time permits, we would like to stop in Markleeville for a break and something cool to drink. Then it is back on the road up Hwy 89 into Tahoe.
Please see my post at the end of this thread for an explanation on the route changes.
6 pm - If all goes well and we don’t get too far off track, we will have our BBQ on the lake on the grounds of Lake Land Village. The BBQ will consist of hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, chips, dip, water and soft drinks, and desert. Sorry alcohol will have to be BYOB.
8 pm - Our club meeting will be held at about 8pm when we will vote on new members, a new board member, have a 50/50 raffle, and discuss any other topics or concerns. The meeting will take place after the BBQ on the lake shore.
After the meeting:
Last year a group went to the casinos….some did well….while others did not, but everyone had fun.
If the weather permits, it might be nice to take a leisurely drive with the tops down along the west side of the lake to Emerald Bay.
June 10th
9:30 am - meet in front of the Lake Land Village office in the parking lot.
10 am - we will head back towards the Sacramento Valley via Hwy 88 with lunch in Jackson at a local diner. From there Hwy 88 will take you to Hwy 99 and on to the connector with I-5, Hwy 4.
With the need for lunch reservations and buying the food for the BBQ, please respond by June 5th.
We will be staying at the Lakeland Village Beach and Mountain Resort. They gave us the same rates as last year:
Deluxe Studio $129 a night
Suite $159 a night
You can make your reservations for Friday the 8th and Saturday the 9th or just Saturday.
Call the reservations number at 800-822-5969 and mention you are with the West Coast Kappa Car Club.
They are willing to hold the rooms for us until May 20th. If rooms are still available after that date they will honor the above pricing, but there are no guarantees there will still be rooms.
Alternate Lodging:
Days Inn
3530 Lake Tahoe Blvd.
South Lake Tahoe
(530) 544-3445
About $99 a night, though I was told the earlier you book the better, as prices will go up as time goes by.
Budget Inn
3496 Lake Tahoe Blvd.
South Lake Tahoe
(530) 544-2834
One red star in the AAA tour guide. Looked clean. Lists rooms as going for $32-$150. Again, I would book as early as possible.
Both places are directly across the street from the Lake Land Village Resort.
If you have any problems with making your reservations, please PM me. They were great last year and have been really good to work with this year, so I don't anticipate any problems.
