Bought an 06 solstice 2.4 with a hydro locked engine, bent rod, I have completely gutted this car, also have a wrecked GXP, complete car with a very low mile engine, plan on a swap, engine wiring harness in and out and dash. What parts fail on these cars and what should I address while I'm putting everything back together, for example should I change out both cores in the heat exchanger? they are most likely plastic, should anything on the engine be changed out? Plus I will have a lot of parts left over including a manual trans with all the associated components for an auto to manual change

what I'm looking for is the wisdom from all you owners as to what parts fail and since this car is totally apart maybe now would be the time to address any failure items...heat exchanger aluminum fins and maybe plastic side pieces as well with the evap, I don't know how they are constructed that's why the post

The intercooler is aluminum

The air ducting around the IC is plastic.
