I'd challenge any car, otherwise how do you know if your faster? But if it makes you feel better I've dusted several bmw's, g35's, 350z's, s2000's, mustang (non coyote motor), a turbo scion tc, and one ls1 trans am

Here's a list of everything I have challenged, or been challenged by:

2012 Mustang GT - W (he smoked his tires)
2009 Subaru WRX STi - W (most know better, won't even play with me!!)
2001? - Corvette - W
2012 Mustang GT500 - L (gave him a good run, lost by about 2 car lengths; of course he spun his tires too! LOL)
2012 Camaro - W (he was sleeping at the light, but a win is a win!)
Kawaski Ninja (gave him a good run and shook him up with my car, but in his defense he was only like a 600 or 700)
countless number of other less memmorable cars....

I can honestly say, I don't lose very often, and generally I'm not the one challenging. The Subaru WRXs won't even acknowledge me, it's funny. I won't "race" on a busy road. Too risky. It has to be almost desserted andw wide open. I have managed to become pretty well known to the tuner world around my area. I actually had one pull me over in a Taco Bell parking lot and congratulate me on "winning" against one of the better known rice burners in the area. He wanted to check out my car and talk to me about it. He invited me to hang out with all the other rice burners on Saturday nights..... Needless to say, I haven't!! LOL... The most memorable was the Ninja.... I have posted the story before about a light and everyone trying to get over in the right lane for the next light that's just under a 1/4 mile up the road. He was in the left lane, I was in the right....light turned green and we were side by side to the next light. It's a double right turn lane, so I politely moved all the way to the right and he lifted his visor and couldn't believe how fast I was...

I love my coupe. It is one of the most exciting and fun cars I drive, but lets be real. Unless you have done an engine swap like Rob and others, you have a fun car with a little zip. Don't embarrass yourself challenging anyone. My little coupe has about 300 horse and can hang the back end out like nobody's business but it's the slowest in the stable. The Camaro ZL1, the stock C06 Corvette, the Pontiac G8GT, and even the Silverado with it's 6.6 litre turbo diesel are all faster and most handle as well as the Solstice. It's a great fun little car and looks as goods as any, but lets not live with the illusion that its a go fast. And remember when you think your fast someone will show you different a la the Nissan GTR that passed me at over 184 on a runway.

Now I'm not trying to bull the BS flag here, because it all comes down to the driver mod as well, but from what you sig shows, that only little you mod you're not mentioning must be a huge power adder... You don't happen to have any videos or a track slip by any chance? I'd love to see the solstice get down and kick some AWD ass.

With the title are we talking about just drag racing, or racing in general? Granted at this point my car isn't beating squat ( not running ), but before it was keeping up with Camaros, Mustangs, M3's, and blew the doors of some well tuned rotaries, and miatas, Now that is all at the Auto X. For drag racing well i see tail lights a lot, but what do you expect? Anybody worth racing down here has modded their car to the near max. We have a " list " in our area, and well numbers 10-01 are basically drag cars with street tires. I'm Planning on sharing some videos on the page once i get the Sol back on the road.

It's actually pretty easy to beat AWD cars. Most don't get off the line very well at all. The ONLY exception to that rule is GTRs old and new. I smoked a WRX-STI with my wife in the passenger seat. He had an empty car. The look on his face was priceless.

:( the AWD's we have here are much harder to outrun. If you're ever bored look for slime green evo on youtube. That's what I have to deal with. Granted AWD cars are far and few between here in South FL, but the few that are running on the street are no joke.

Really depends on what type of racing being compared. I've seen numerous Solstices beating Vettes at the track. (road course). It's all about confidence in what you can do with the car. You can take a Solstice to 10/10ths of its performance and outrun Vettes and Camaros all day at the track because those drivers either don't have the talent or the brave pills to take their cars to that level and run consecutive laps. Same goes for racing on the street. I can put my car in places guys in Camaros wouldn't dare because they have no visibility.

As for trucks. I destroyed a guy in his heavily modified diesel pickup. He was being a jerk to other cars on the highway, like most are in those trucks. I pulled up right beside him while we were slowed in traffic. Revved my supercharger, then when we took off, left him 3-4 car lengths behind up to 100. He had about 10000 cubic ft of black smoke billowing down the road, and he still couldn't hang with a lightly modified 2.4 especially when he hit his speed limiter. Nothing funnier than trucks racing me and they hit the limiter. lol

I agree 100% it's all about the Driver mod, and the brave pill you took that morning. I attend Regular Auto X session here, and i'm at the point where i can keep up with the local MX5 group. I have bone stock suspenion on the car, so to me that is a great accomplishment. We get big V8 drivers every now and then on the more open course layouts, but they are to chicken to drive the car, and post slow times.

If you read all of them, I stated basically that they were either sleeping or spun their tires!! :yesnod: As far as the WRX goes, I've run 2, beat them both....can't get most of them to even try.

Oh...forgot about the older Porsche Boxster (1999?) with his date in the car that I had to embarrass.... He was egging me on for the 4 prior stop lights.... So the fifth one, I went. He lost. But in my defense, it was a POS and he was a younger 20.

Since I got the GXP, I've been praying someone would come up next to me and want to run but it hasn't happened yet. Mine is stock so I don't expect a whole lot out of it. I'm sure I can smoke the v6 camaro's though. I've driven one and it wasn't all that at all. Back in the day, I used to street race all the time but roads are so crowded these days, It's hard to find one that's not totally busy. I like the crown Vic remark. I hear ya on that.

Maybe you need the driver mod or coupes are slower. My tune only solstice is faster than my tune only G8GT and faster than one with tune, exhaust,intake,x-pipe.

No truck has beaten either of my cars ever. Some are close tho.

I need to expand on my above statement. I do challenge all comers while sitting still. I have yet to meet any car that Punisher does not compare with favorably while sitting still. :willy:

You can get him in the GXP. Those things are turds even with a tune. When they upgrade the turbos look out. There is a guy south of here running 12's but he is far from stock.

I have to be careful of diesels around me as well. Several of those are running 11's and 12' all day long and 13 second diesels are a dime a dozen.
There is no way you are beating a properly modded diesel off the line when they boost launch. I toyed with a buddy one day that owns a 24V Cummins that puts about 750-775hp to the road. I wasn't even close.

Our cars are made to drive and not build for 1/4 mile jaunts.
None of those trucks would have a chance on a road coarse against a Kappa with the upgraded suspension and good tires.
