Interesting writeup. It does make you wonder what current cars will really be considered design classics down the road, and which ones will simply look “like everything else” made during that time period.
I think Solstice certainly has a shot. Its rounded and voluptuous in a time when most cars have a more aggressive, hard edged style to them. It certainly stands apart. Time will tell.
I also think the 300 has a chance. It appears that it may spawn a change in sedan styling to a much more aggressive, upscale look at many other automakers. It’s the first regular sedan that I have seen in a long time that really looks to stand out based on styling, and not just appear to be another appliance on the road. Again, time will tell, but it certainly has broken from the mainstream.
