I have one.
I like it. :yesnod:

Easy on, easy off.

You just have to remember to take it off when
you put up the top, else the device will warp.
( I wrecked my first WR that way... )

Many people have them and like them. They function well

They mount solidly in the trunk. No vibration.

They need to be removed when the top is up so they are not bent. Some have chosen the type 2 because of a concern about wear on the trunk seal but I have never seen an actual problem.

I have a v2 and it works well, fits under the top no problem. Others have commented that they get a rattle. I've heard it on occasion depending upon wind direction and speed and it's more of a "tick" than a rattle.

Nightamer has had a type 1 on Scooter since 2007. It still looks essentially new and he loves it. He has a storage bag and pulls it off when he puts the top up. He has had no difficulties with the trunk seal and is very happy.

In my case, because I swap out WRs on a frequent basis (having 5) it made sense for me to use screw fastners to hold them solidly to the car. I use one as a template and drill the mounting holes in the new ones as they come along. An added benefit is that they are very solidly mounted and have zero vibration or noise. Of course this means that there are holes in the tulip panel but for me this is not an issue as they are essentially hiden by the seat back and even with the seats forward, they are not noticable.

Personally I would have no issue with using a V1. My reason for going to V2 is the V1 is not illuminated.

First let me say that Wind Restrictor makes a great quality product. There support is second to none. Their experts will contact you on Sunday afternoon to help you with issues! I wouldn’t go with version 1. It is a bit thinner causing it to be more prone to warping in heat. My recommendation is go with version 2 and get the ghosting feature! I have version 2 with the ghosting feature. I will post pics tonight… You won’t regret either one though!

I have an etched and illuminated V1. It's my second one, because the first one warped pretty badly due to leaving it installed with the top up on hot days. Not sure how Wine lover has managed NOT to have that issue... YMMV
