I only need the hot side pipe, but, if I have to buy both, I will. I want a plain unpainted, unpolished one. Dejon has the most OEM looking ones, and I am trying to keep the OEM look.
By hot side, I assume you mean from turbo to IC. As far as I know, they only come in pairs. And why not get a painted one? It dresses up an otherwise drab area... :leaving:

I dont know why that would have any affect on smog. If your not tuned (and im assumong your not becauwe otherwise it would be hard to pass inspection) the car should correct it self I think. Maybe someone familiar with ca emmissions could chime in...
Why bump this? Latin answered it and said no, ic piping has no effect on emissions. As far as being able to buy only one pipe, I don't believe any reputable, direct fit, aftermarket manufacturer sells only the one side.
How does the inspector know is an aftermarket IC pipe?.
Let's say he really knows is an aftermarket IC pipe. Can he then proceed to tell you why it will fail emissions, I will really like to hear what this person will say.
It has a big company name on it. New Kali smog stations must be "star certified". Any car they let slip through that gets stopped in Kali, the cops asked where they were last smogged and shut the shop down. Passing smog is irrelevant if it doesn't have a CARB sticker. 2/3 of the smog shops have closed in the past year due to this new star certification, and another 200-300 close per month. According to the smog dude I went to last night, they're down to 2300 stations.
He wants unpainted and unpolished for a reason. Gotta love our state.
