bad key fob solder joints

My key fob stopped working after only 18 months. Thought it was a battery but then saw posts about bad solder joints. Couldn't find any pics though. So I opened up my key fob and sure enough it had bad solder joints. Here's a pic...



I am terrible at soldering but after laying a little heat to the joints they went back together and it works.

I also had this problem, but it was my own fault. Fob and key went thru the laundry. Fob wouldn't work. I took it apart and saw that the clip that holds the battery in place broke loose. Dried everything out with a hair dryer since some water did get inside the unit. Took about 3 minutes to solder the three connections back on. It works perfect again.

Keyfob need soldering

I just found this thread by accident and am glad that I did.....my keyfob has a recently new battery and isn't working, and I thought it was ME!!!! :willy: :willy:
