. People here seem to have informed opinions so I thought Id bounce it off the group. Ignoring decreased fuel economy and decreased performance, can consistently using low octane fuel in a vehicle that calls for premium cause long term damage?
A quick ChatGPT query says yes due to
1) pre-ignition (though in cars with kr sensors this in theory shouldn't be a problem)
2) Increased engine stress
3) Fuel system issues
What do you guys think?
(For the record I'm on the "use what the car calls for" side of the argument)
