I'm trying to determine the percentage of Solstice owners that have experienced a failure with the trunk opening due to a broken retainer clip which will not allow one of the convertible top fins to release. I view this as a safety defect as run flats are NOT standard equipment on the cars. The only way to fix a flat is to access the fix a flat can and inflator in the trunk. I also find it insane that GM dosen't sell the plastic retainer clip that is the cause of the problem but instead forces you to buy the entire cable to fix the problem ($180 vs 10 cents). I think GM should treat this defect as a safety recall.
