It looks like I need to install a wind deflector on my GXP. The wind bothers my wifes ears on a longer ride. My question is which one? Seems like a lot of forum members have added the Windrestrictor. How well do they work? Is it the best choice? How does it compare to the Kappasphere or GM versions?

Rag,
I have the Senoff deflector (stays on with top up) and really like it. Where are you in Mass?
I'm just south of Worcester. If you'd like to see the Senoff unit installed and go for a spin to see how it works before you buy, let me know.

Here is a link to a Poll on windscreens: http://www.solsticeforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17249&highlight=wind+screen
Also, do a *search* on wind screen, and you'll find a plethora of information!
HTH! :)
That poll is old and didn't include WindRestrictor or the Sensoff.

I have the WindRestrictor.com version. It does help somewhat but there is still wind that comes through. I guess that is part of top down life. They make nitted hair tie back or wraps that you wife can use to cover her ears and still look nice. I drive with my windows up and that helps also. I'm not sure on the ugly GM one if it helps.

I have seen very little benefit from a wind deflector, unless the windows are up. It does seem to change the wind from turbulent to more steady, but doesn't reduce it much at all. Maybe my problem is because I have to have the seat all the way back, because others I have talked to have been very enthusiastic about theirs. The wind that bothers me the most comes over the top of the door, and directly into my outboard ear, and no wind deflector is going to stop that.

I would really like to have the benefit of one, and have even tried extending mine up and out, but with no improvement.

By all means, if you are buying one for actual wind reduction, try to test someone's first.

Sorry to hear about your wife. I've had several people in the car that simply don't like wind blowing on there hair/ears, etc.

Has she tried rolling up her window while you drive? That works very well for most people and won't require you to modify your car. A hat can also be effective.

Thanks everyone. It sounds like there is no single answer. Everyone seems to like the one they have. I'll look over the various suggestions. I don't think I want the GM version, it looks kind of big. I'm looking for something that can stay on full time.
