  • The piping needs to be fitted up. Because of the bends and couplers included, it should be simple.
  • The T3 turbo flange needs to be welded to an adapter pipe or directly to the stock manifold.
  • To run this on a street car, the turbocharger down pipe will need to be connected to your existing exhaust. Expect to fabricate an adapter pipe or have an exhaust shop connect them.

I mean... fitting the pipes is part of a turbo install anyway, and welding the turbo flange shouldn’t be impossible; my dad was a professional welder and can do it if my garage welding skills fail. And it having to buy an adapter pipe is the only thing extra I have to do I can also live with that.

 

There is also the "no instructions" bit. I may have missed it, but didn't see anything about tuning the ECM.

 

Do you want it to run or not run after bolting it on... do you want someone to talk to that has sold hundreds of turbo kits for our specific platform or do you want the 'no instructions' guy... do you save the thousand dollars now and waste your time or pay the money for plug and play?

 

We have one member who went down a similar path. He is on his third or fourth motor. If you are asking opinions mine is buy a knownkit from Paw, DDM or Hahnthat will potentially save you years of headaches. Or just enjoy the car as is

 

If you set aside the installation..

What brand turbo is it?
What brand CAC core is it?
How thick are the charge pipes?
How many plies are the cuplings?
The clamps will need to be replaced with T-Bolt clamps.
No mounting brackets for the CAC.
No oil feed line.
No oil return line.
No coolant feed line.
No coolant return line.
No tune, and honestly don't know if you would find a reputable shop that would be willing to tune it because of liability.

RPM has a kit that you can buy that is almost 100% OE GM parts. They are the exact same parts used on the GXP and Redline. It includes the tune as well. The cost is 3,000.00 but it is a COMPLETE kit from start to finish with every single piece and part needed.

IDK what year your car is. If it is an 06 Solstice then the internals are forged and you should be able to get about 430 - 450 HP (flywheel) out of it using the RPM kit. If the car is a later MY then you will get about 300HP out of it. GM removed the forged internals sometime in 2007 I believe.
