I am assuming that a groove where the input shaft seal is the cause of the oil leak I noted when I pulled the transmission. The GM dealer can't find a repair sleeve, so I guess it's aftermarket only as I found a repair sleeve on rockauto, I would guess Napa has it too.
Does this need a special seal because the diameter has changed?

Another problem I noted was there seemed to be excessive input shaft play.
Does anyone have access to service information regarding the specification for input shaft play? In addition, any chance you could provide me with service information on how to replace this if that play is out of tolerance?
